Just a quick demo of a small Animation scene I made for when the player is killed by Anubis in a Pyramid.... youtube https://youtu.be/iGgsaG0bydQ windows.exe https://drive.google.com/file/d/... As usual - any feedback/suggestions are more than welcome and I'll try to incorporate them into the final game. Thanks... |

Super cool Pete! Is this an CC engine live animation plus live particles in the background or animated texture / video playback? |

hadoken wrote: Super cool Pete! Is this an CC engine live animation plus live particles in the background or animated texture / video playback? Hey thanks Hadoken! Yes, it's a live animation - just 2 textured cylinders (double sided, transparent png) rotating at slightly different speeds and affected by gravity. They drop down while rotating when the scene starts. There are also 3 billboards which I set to rotate around the character on 3 axes to look like swirling magic. Finally there is a transparent png image of Hieroglyphs, which is set to quiclky fly in a circle around the Anubis character and give a strobe effect... The claw-swipe is just a static-plane which is set to appear on proximity with the camera, with a node attached to Anubis' hand. The claw-swipe is also affected by gravity to give it an animated feel as the hand moves. The orange flames in the background are the default coppercube flame particles prefab. No video playback or animated textures, but I did enable the built-in bloom feature to make the background blur slightly and make Anubis pop. Here's the ccb file so you can see how it's constructed..... anubis.ccb https://drive.google.com/file/d/... |

@veganpete, what you show us here is a very sophisticated use of CopperCube as kind of a live "video" (scene) editing and animation tool in a very creative way! I know what CC is capable of in particular. But how you make a wonderful sum out of the individual features in your demo impresses me very much. Very machinima like - thanks for sharing :-) |

Thank you Hadoken! I'm really pleased with Coppercube, especially how versatile it is for creating 3D animations. It's so much fun to use and it's incredible for me to see things come alive on the screen. Until I found coppercube, I was never able to create 3D animations before - so this is really something I've wanted to be able to do for a very long time. |

You are a really good artist with great creativity, Using multiple tools and objects provided in Coppercube can really make a nice artwork. I have seen the very least amount of people using cylinders within Coppercube and pairing particles and simple Rotation actions can do a lot of different things. Coppercube is really a very underrated engine. It is more powerful than it seems to be. I liked the shining body of Anubis as well. and the huge size of particles make it completely different. It reminds me of a screensaver which I created for my pc when I was very new to coppercube. I named that screensaver visualisation. you can also pair the current scene with change texture behavior for the cylinder and can use different BG if you want. I used that to make the screensaver more dynamic and to change the visuals of the scene. To make this a screensaver for your PC simply rename the .exe with a .scr and in your game add a script on mouse move exit the app. so that it will look nice. its a great way to show off stuff while recording YT videos if you are a youtuber or when you are with friends. It will look really cool to see your work when your computer is idle. As always am really happy to see people putting effort to make this engine Alive. Thanks a lot |

Hey, thank you for the kind words just_in_case Coppercube is definitely a very capable toolkit for animation and effects. Obviously I've still got a lot to learn but I'm using it every day now - and it always makes me smile whenever I make something and finally see it working. I usually start with an idea and just keep adding things to a scene until I feel it looks right. Coppercube really helps to make basic ideas come alive. There are so many different tools in the bag, pretty sure anything can be brought to life with coppercube. Thanks, I really appreciate the screensaver tip, I'll definitely rename the anubis.exe as anubis.scr - I didn't realise it was that simple to do! I always wanted to make a screensaver with a gently winding, infinite tunnel (top-down view with changing textures - photos from a folder) and a ragdoll person tumbling through it under gravity. I never had a clue how to do it before, but now I can try experimenting with coppercube physics sometime in the future and hopefully get a working rag-doll screensaver. |

Thanks CF! Glad you like it. The model is from Sketchfab and I used Mixamo.com to animate it before importing to coppercube. |
