So, when we have to see CopperCube 2020 or any news about it? We don't have normal updates from 2018... Our team (One Guy Studio) trying to make something new, but we missing so much features. We still don't have a simple built-in multiplayer IN 2020!!! I have no emotions left at all, it really seems to me that the engine was abandoned by the developer, although Niko denies this. |

Development slowed down a bit since Copperube went free with version 6, yes. But I'm still planning updates. Just need to have the budget for it. When more people are only using the free version and a lot using cracket versions, it takes a bit longer, of course. |

I wonder how you know there's lots of users who use cracked versions. hmm... How would you be able to tell? I'm legitimately curious now. lol. Anyways: I'm (mostly) happy with the current version, but a few things would be nice (such as a fix for the proximity bug, and making paths available as actions (for cut-scenes)). I'd really like it if collision could be disabled on objects which are invisible. That'd be great and I'm sure that would help with performance! I'm splitting my levels into sections and I make them visible / invisible as you run around. I'm sure that performance would be noticeably better if collision wasn't being checked on invisible meshes :) I'd also like to see a Phong shading option which co-exists alongside Gouraud. That'd be nice! |

Wow, so you need to tell me niko was watching us this whole time? Even registered users? Wow, just, wow. :/ |

I can tell by the support requests I get. And if you read my twitter, you've probably seen that sometimes people even tell me they use pirated versions |

Using a pirated version of this software is really a shi**y thing to do. I generally support piracy when it comes to big corporations, for example, God of War game sold over 3m copies in the first three days of release, Captain Marvel film earned over 1b, in these and similar cases it's even preferable to find and rip a pirated content. Nothing anyone creates is worth over 1b. But solo-developers and small independent teams are a completely different thing, this content should not be pirated, it's actually disgusting. The only thing I can think of that would justify this is if they're from very poor countries where 100$ is an amount that could feed them for a month. I hope, however, all users of the pirated CC will buy legal versions of the software, at least if they create something that will allow them to pay without endangering their wellbeing. |

I don't support piracy worth a crap. I believe everyone needs and deserves money. |

Everyone needs and deserves money, nobody deserves an ocean of money. I like Charlie Sheen as an actor, I hope he continues acting as long as he can but he did not deserve 2m per episode, nobody does, nothing anyone can do on a screen for 20 min is worth 2m. |

You have a pretty good point. But also if you had the time, skill, dedication, and effort you could make something really good in a fair amount of time. It's not money that counts, it's effort. :D |

You're right, most things that are created out of passion and dedication seem to stand out and survive for a very long time. Some things even for centuries. I was surprised that similar things seem to be happening with games also. There are people still playing C64 games from the '80s, enjoying 2D/3D games from the '90s... there are some people that are actually developing new games for C64 using the same programing language for those computers. It didn't look that games are capable of reaching the same threshold as other art content but they seem to be getting there:) |

I actually never knew people still develop for older systems. Seems interesting. Nor did I know that people still play on other (older) systems. That sounds really cool and really interesting at the same time! I would like to know more! :) |

My favorite person is 'The 8-Bit Guy', but there's a lot of others that are covering the retro scene and old tech:) Here is his clip of some new games for VIC-20 and C64: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=... ...if you're seeing him for the first time just a heads-up: he's a living embodiment of the old-school geek, if you are under 30 it will take some time to get used to watching him:D |

I really understand money is needed for developments to happen in Coppercube. I also understand that some of us really would like some updates - not always the huge and fancy ones like a new graphics engine, but also relativly small things that still mean a lot. (i've suggested quite a few) So Niko, here's a proposal: Have you considered crowdfunding specific things? Make for example a top-ten list out of what users would like and have us chip in some cash for each option on that list? When each option have raised enough money - you can develop that specific thing. And perhaps those updates are only available for the crowdfunders until a 2021-version with a lot of changes are there to buy for everyone. Or maybe, only prepare for a 2021-version for us to buy? (and keep the current one free). |

Exactly, that would be a great way. I’d happily pay for CopperCube 7 or something like that, free or not. Purchasing the pro version of CC6 was worth it in my opinion. Unrelated note, but the 8-Bit Guy is pretty cool in my opinion, very enjoyable videos. |
