It would be cool - if the Terrain would support Support "Level of Detail". Near Distance to Camera - more Detail, Far Distance to Camera - Low Detail. It would increase the Performance in a Huge amount if using Terrains in the Project. At the moments it´s not so good, but if you want a smoother terrain - you have a huge amount of Polygons that are always visible Better Terrain-Painting would also be nice. Maybe some Layers, every one has one Image you could paint on the information where to show the assigned Image like Grass, Paths, Snow, Sand and so on |

Be nice to be able to paint trees and bushes on the terrain. |

I believe copper cube has a simple ecosystem painter - it’s in the terrain tools pop up. I’ve painted grass and trees before. So after more usage, yes. There are two ways to populate your terrain with grass, trees, rocks, bushes, etc. One is the mentioned grass painter. Choose a grass texture from the texture picker below right. I am sure you can find other transparent grass textures as well. Now, click on the terrain - the terrain editor panel will pop up. Choose the right-most tool - eco painter. Now paint on your terrain and it will disperse grass. You can set the size of the grass to make it shorter or longer. Press SHIFT and left mouse button to erase grass. The slider lets you choose how large your brush is - which will affect more or less of an area. For denser grass, just keep painting and playing with grass size and brush size. Number two, load a static asset (like a tree) in and turn it into a animated static mesh (you can also use Coppercube's built in tree creator) by right-clicking and choosing modify selection and then clone as an animated mesh. In the animation panel, which will automatically show, right click on the asset in the animation window and choose create instance. Now right click on the asset and pick 'distribute over terrain' and choose the percentage of distribution. Mike |
