Here is a first screenshot of CopperCube 5 (currently in development):
🔎︎

It is the feature I'm currently working on: terrain rendering. It's still very unfinished, but looks nice already in some scenes.

And to remind: CopperCube 5 is still in development. But if you buy CopperCube 4 now, you get CopperCube 5 for free. (Details: http://www.ambiera.com/forum.php...)

Looks great Niko. How does it work? From a hightmap image imported in or can we sculpt the train from within the editor?

Does look really nice thanks Niko.

The shadows on the terrain look silky smooth.

It doesn't import anything, the plan is that you can edit everything easily in the editor. The terrain on this shot has been generated randomly by the editor (which you can also do then by specifying a few parameters, textures, etc)

Is it possible to use an irregular mesh as the surface for terrain ?

I'm working with huge geographic terrain models and I find that if you decimate them in Blender you can loose 95% of polygons with most no loss of detail.

Niko,I'll wait to see a screenshoot with Bullet Physics.

Thanks!

Steve: Ah, interesting. I'm just working on this feature, and the structure behind it is capable of actually using any data as terrain (so it's not just a heightmap). So technically this would be possible. Not sure if such a feature would make it into the first release of this, but let's see.

Skullboy: A screenshot of bullet physics? You wouldn't see much on it, I guess a video would be more useful

Great that can walk on irregular mesh.

I'm writing an exporter for QGIS (geographic information system) which builds the scene using Copperlicht. There are map points where models will be placed on the surface. I want to import those models from blender using Coppercube. Does this sound feasible ?

Sure, should be possible, IMO

Of course it will support texture blending, it already does.
54newstar: It will have some more features than that tool in your video.

I am starting to feel like this is going to be the best Coppercube version ever!

The shaders will really do it for me. Any screenies coming Niko? ;-)
