A quick game I made last night...

Use W,A,S,D to navigate the maze, collect keys to unlock the doors and find LeMarchand's Hell Cube. Find the Compass to help guide your quest.

Game Type: Maze
Game Difficulty: Medium/Hard
Average Playtime: 15Minutes
Game Size: 12MB

🔎︎

*Known issues - arrow keys don't work (Use W,A,S,D instead).

Thanks Coa! I'll add a bit more to it next week - some enemies and puzzles to solve. Not really a very good game at the moment.

And if you don't like the footsteps sound then you hold down space bar to hower instead of walking...

Nice game, I was not able to escape the maze and had to shut it down it was giving me headache.

This was the first time, I noticed that I have such an issue with a game it was making my head go round and round probably because of the lighting and the maze texture.
nothing wrong with the game but I think my brain just can't digest this particular one. or maybe it is because I was playing it on a 40" inch TV screen...

I would like to see a more sophisticated puzzle game of this instead of a maze, maybe something like prince of persia puzzle stuff.

Sorry it had this negative effect on you just_in_case
It's just a quick project but I'll be adding sprite enemies and a puzzle element. Personally I hate mazes too but I'll probably keep it for this project.

Yes, the reason for that is a bug in the keyboard controller - space is "jump" by default in coppercube (but you can't disable it). So holding space makes it continually re-tirigger the jump animation every 10ms until you let go of space (the old windows key-repeat bug).Even if I set the "jump" animation to "walk"instead, it just retriggers the animation - hence the hover effect. LOL. The reason I can't fix it is because the keyboard controller a built-in coppercube behaviour, so there is no way to for me to control it by using variables and no way (that I know of) to disable space-key input - so all my games have this exact same problem - the only workaround I found is to use someone else's controller or to switch to a cloned model whenever space is pressed (then switch back to the other model when space is released again). Any idea how to fix it properly? Thanks

Thanks Arcanjo. Character is Lara Croft from Tomb Raider I.

I'll probably upload to itch.io when I've added more gameplay.

Cool 3rd person mechanics, animations run smooth and Lara is still hot 26 years later. Couldn't find the Lament Config. tho, and the gameplay is still a bit dull. Some cenobite presence round the corner would sure improve the experience.

Cheers for playing it angstloch.

I've added the starts of a puzzle element with a skeleton-quest asking to find the compass before you can pass. I agree the gameplay is completely boring. I think you're right - it needs some Cenobites. I thing I'll try to rip some from the movies and then animate them for the game with some basic quests.

Thanks!

Just out of interest, here's the Lament Configuration...its shiny and rotating in place at the centre of the map....

I think I may do several mazes and strt with a very simple one - each time you get to the center, the box transports you to a more difficult maze.

And here's the map...

Excellent VP! The game is really cool! I loved the walking and idle animations! The torch lighting is also working great! This project is turning into a great fan game, if the project continues, it can reach a very high number of views if posted on itchio or some other platform! Do you intend to make a system with the use of weapons? Excellent work, keep it up!

Thanks andgameplay! I hadn't really thought how to develop it further. I think I would probably get rid of the maze completely an make some decent levels instead. This was very quick - only took around 2 hours to make everything (mixamo character and maze) - this was more of a practice/recap, rather than a real game - so I'm completely open to ideas if you want me to develop it further and add anything specific to it and I can then upload to itch.io or share the ccb with you here.

Each day, I'm still working on the Male/female character pack for the CC community (textures are coming along nicely now) and my main long-term project is Rebel County which I add a little bit more to each day. I will go back and finish Nekron and Cas-Evac too eventually but I have spare time for small projects like this one too.

I could add a weapon/item wheel no problem - or anything else if you have any ideas?

Thank you,.
