Sweet find Robo, Yhea the in game engine terrain tool is good for certain levels and good for white boxing very quickly your level. Using it as a place holder for more complex and accurate meshes seems the way to go. Great share Robo thanks ! CF |

Thanks for the comments 'smnmhmdy' and 'creaturefreak' - yes Unreal uses terrain tile streaming to load and unload no longer needed map sections - better for lower polygons and less memory. I will try incororate something like that with different LOD's and maybe even lower texture sizes initially (except on current terrain tile) for fast loading and Im hoping the ccbClean Memory function will do something to help remove old textures from memory to acheive what I need....yet to test this out... If not then have to have more terrain breaks to load next section in.. See my new video about making 3d terrains just posted now.. |
