Hey All,

First off i just wanna say how great this program is, all of you who are working on it are doing a fantastic job.

As im trying not to ask repeated questions within the forum, im using the search tool as much as i can. Use 3ds max as a profession, but this is my first experience with a game engine.

However there are many NOOB questions i have in trying to learn this program. Many of which im having trouble tracking down the answers to. In light of not trying to fill up the forum with dozens of new threads ill keep posting the rookie questions im having with IrrEdit on a daily basis, or untill im up to speed.

I have only tried to import .obj and .3ds files so far.

The first few questions are....

1. Can i remove or change a texture from the texture window once i loaded one in, an option such as "replace file"?

2. If there are textures i do not need within the texture window, can i remove them individually?

3.  Why do .obj and .3ds files when imported, do not import the world position that they are in within my 3ds max scene?

4. When i first import a mesh (.3ds or .obj), the mesh is gray. It does not have any texture on it, i have to apply the texture manually to each object through the texture window. Is there any way to import a mesh so that it already has the correct texture applied to it without the model being gray?

5. If export two individual objects together (each having its own map and anchor point),  When i load up the .3ds or .obj file within IrrEdit, the mesh is grouped together and has one material ID. i cannot reapply the two individual textures to right parts of the grouped mesh. Is there a way that i can?  *EDIT - i think i found the solution to this one.

[sub]"first copy your maps in a folder .
open 3dsmax and load your model .
open material editor and load your maps again --> assign them to your model

Export your model to .3ds and save it in the same(!)  folder as your textures.

open irredit and if you now import your model, IrrEdit seach for the textures and will find them because they are in the same folder.
save your level

open IrrLicht and bootup your level : this should work.

3ds likes  to have textures close to them somehow, we had the same problem after that we do it only like this and it works fine"[/sub]

Thanks for the help everyone, im sure there will be more questions to follow! :)

Removing textures is not possible currently, sorry.
3) That's the way how irrlicht does it :)
4) Depends on the file format and the exporter. Probably for 3ds files the texture needs to be in the working directory or the directly of the file.
