Something i think that would help a lot in graphical quality is to enhance shadows quality, something like it was in IrrLicht, and maybe allow realtime shadows for point lights too. And per pixel lighting instead of per vertex. |

CC uses a very old and customized version of Irrlicht, hope irrlicht version or atlease JS engine gets updated in the new update. It is more likely to see a newer version of Javascript sdk, than of irrlicht for now. I think next version of CC might have an updated JS engine. |

realtime shadows for CopperCube's OpenGL renderer would be a dream |

i agree hadoken |

Shadows in CC are very bad performance wise and so doubt anything would be done with that without making performance even worse. A new directx would be needed for this but doubt that will ever happen. |

I am not sure about the JS engine to be honest, i am guessing that it can be updated because of this tweet by @niko, it is possible that the tweet was for the RC website builder, am not sure. hope he will update he tJS engine of CC as well. https://twitter.com/Ambiera/stat... |

I think Niko should use crossplatform Api like WGPU to avoid all the headache dealing with low level api like vulkan/dx12 and also no need to worry about crossplatform "Wgpu supports shaders in WGSL, SPIR-V, and GLSL. Both HLSL and GLSL have compilers to target SPIR-V. All of these shader languages can be used with any backend, we will handle all of the conversion. Additionally, support for these shader inputs is not going away." |
