"On Proximity" doesn't work either now - the fighters don't hit each other properly any more.

No worries. Thanks everyone. I learned a lot but I'm giving up.
Good luck everyone!

It's sad to see you go, if you can share the CCb file, We can have a look and might be able to help you fix those issues, I know it can be too much frustrating when you have given time and effort to something and in the last, it breaks and ruins everything. It hurts a lot man, I hope you will be soon back to CC. Best of luck to you as well.

and If you are planning to share the project, I suggest you put the project on itch.io with a one or 2 dollar price tag, so that you don't have to worry that people will steal your project or ideas or your work.
You can share the free key with those people whom you trust and you think that they will be able to help you out. That way you will earn something for the effort and time you have given to your project, if people will be interested they will pay the amount and can get the source project.

All the best, TBH I don't want you to give up, but if it's not helping then suit yourself with something else that will give you much better result.

If you have already one BUG in game logic then that can affect all logic..
If i wrote a script then sometimes one small TYPO can affect all game.. also coppercube doesnt give info where the error is so it seems like everything is ok but actually not .

If you are using scripts that are written by others than you then you must know that scripts we provide isnt 100% quaranteed to work.. i find bugs all the time from my scripts and from others and i remove them if i find them.

Thanks - Nah, I'm not using any scripts or code, all my projects were made using just default actions and variables.

I do understand that all engines have their quirks and bugs. 9 times out of ten it's down to user error (as you've said on my other bug reports you believe it's my logic that's at fault, not coppercube). Although in most cases, it did actually turn out to be a coppercube bug.

It's obvious to me that other people don't seem to be experiencing all these problems - but, despite that, I'm convinced it an "on first draw" bug.

In all cases, I've eventually managed to work around it but always at a certain point, my projects just seem to fall apart. While that again points to user-error (I'm not a coder) my guess is that it's a bug to do with either "timing" or the engines "clock" as this problem seems to only appear when several things are happening at once. The more things that happen, the more these things either fall out of sync, out of sequence or just completely fail to be triggered. You can patch it by channeling all the triggers through variable switches but it ends up getting ridiculous. Especially when you consider how difficult it is to add a simple "if" statement to a pre-existing block of events. It just gets harder and harder to work with.

I've deleted all my projects and uninstalled for now - but don;t get me wrong - I don't want to leave in bad taste or as a bitter and twisted gnarly hater.

I do genuinely love coppercube (and this forum) and will probably return to it in the future because it has everything I need.

But for now, I'm going to look for a lighter 2D engine and learn some basic coding. Only reason is because I have PTSD and Coppercube was a genuine life-line for me - but now I'm struggling to enjoy it, it's actually compounding my stress and making me feel really down. I don't want to end up hating it - it's just a hobby for me that I want to enjoy.

When I come back to coppercube, hopefully there will have been some stability updates but I'll hopefully be able to use coding, rather than be dependent on the scene graph editor or built-in actions. Anyway, as always, thanks for the help and suggestions.

Thank you just_in_case. Really appreciate that.

I deleted literally everything. All my models, sounds, art, coppercube projects, cloud-backups, downloads. Uninstalled all my apps, deleted social media, all my emails and youtube content. Happens every few years - create, delete, create, delete, create, delete -lol- -cry- -lol-. I'll definitely be back again though.

At least my harddrive and desktop are clean again and I can learn from previous mistakes when I start fresh next time.

I'm kinda burnt out at the mo. So gonna go back to art and music for a while (and dip into a few coding courses), then I'll return to Coppercube with a bit more enthusiasm next year-ish.

Signing off for now but catch you all later. Thanks again everyone for all the help and support over the years. It's been really great fun!
