Hello devs!

I would like a tip about earning some money creating games. Does anyone here know of any site that I can post my game made on Coppercube and maybe earn some money? Which site is easier to do this? Anyone who can help will be grateful!

Hi hadoken, I've heard about this site, it looks pretty interesting. This site I think is better right? Are there any other options to earn money from games?

these are also common considerable options I can think of:

https://www.gog.com/indie
http://gumroad.com

or build your own website for selling your projects

if you're fine with DRM you could also go with steam

finally you could also try earning money from in-app purchases or advertisements with CopperCube Android targeted projects, but .apks can easily get content ripped

@hadoken : in case of apk's; to achieve better security do you think it's possible to create it as WebGL and put a wrapper around it?

@gree

I am skeptical if apks can be protected better, even if you create them e.g. with electron/cordova from webgl projects. Another reason to better stick with Windows targets I guess...

I totally get your hustle for making some money with your Coppercube games. It's a great way to turn your creativity into cold, hard cash. So, here's a tip: you might want to dip your toes into the realm of money apps. As for me, they can be a fantastic avenue to showcase your games and potentially earn some moolah. Plus, it's a win-win because gamers get to enjoy your creations while you stack up those earnings.Speaking from personal experience, trying out a real money app can be a game-changer. It adds a whole new dimension to your game development journey. So why not give it a shot and see where it takes you?

The market is saturated, be it any market, Steam, Itchio, PC, Android, etc., there are thousands of games published every month, many free and of good quality. The gaming market is gone, if you do it, do it to pass time and have your own entertainment, but forget earn money with games.

If you want to make money with you games you should start treating game development as a business. Which means you need to think about things like promotion and advertisement, business model, actual quality. There are tons of example how people manage to make money with they games.
Look at this page for example: https://azagamestudio.itch.io/ - the guy mass produces indie horrors, he makes one game a month, sells them as bundles + with discounts. That could be an approach.
Look at https://store.steampowered.com/a... - this game is based on an Internet meme, and sells for 50 cents in Russia. It managed to be in top-10 sales chart there for some time.
Another article from a guy, who makes money on "trash" games https://dtf.ru/gamedev/1771542-z.... It's in Russian, use google translator, it works well enough to be able to understand the context. He managed to make around $30k in 2021 selling 8 games which are assets swaps, or were made using stuff from assets store. In the article he's also talking about how he was promoting the games.
I'm not into mobile games - but I believe, it could be a good approach too. Mass produce + put a ton of commercials.
These are approaches that come to mind without investigation. Probably, you will not be able to make living if you live in an "expensive" country, but I believe, that's enough to buy you some snacks and a new graphics card.

Is not easy earn money with games, but is not impossible!

I agree with okeoke!

there are thousands of games published every month, many free and of good quality.

Is not so easy to find free games with good quality, for example, I want a realistic Helicopter simulator, where I find?
I want a new open world game like gta, totally free, where I find this?
There are too many paid indie games with good quality and always there are people to play them!

There are public to everybody, but one thing I agree, is not easy earn money and make sucess! The best way to make sucess is "make better", be professional, be better then other devs, make something new, try to innovate!

Is this way in all areas!

Great to see your enthusiasm! If you've created games with Coppercube, platforms like itch.io and Game Jolt are awesome for showcasing and potentially earning money. They offer straightforward setups and communities eager to discover new content.
