How to remove shadows from a 3d object?

I'm creating a fps, I wanted the player to have shadows, so I tried to put a prefab "soldier" as a body and leave a prefab "animated hand" as a weapon, but the shadow of the two appears but I wanted to hide the shadow of the prefab "animated hand" , How can I correct that?

Try unchecking the "Occludes Light" option of the 3D object, to see if it removes the shadow.

Unfortunately for an animated mesh there is no option to disable shadow or Do not obstruct light.

So I don't know if it's possible.

Definitely possible to disable shadows for static and animated models.

I can't remember how I managed to turn off the shadows for this animated model whilst keeping the shadows of the buildings....

The character definitely had a shadow (which I didn't like) so I turned it off.

It may be to do with the "directional light casting shadows" and "real-time shadows" settings?

For me I have a single "directional light" for the scene but turned "casts shadows" to "off" and I set "real-time shadows to "on"

Not sure if that will help or not but I'll have a look over the weekend to see if I can figure out properly how I did it.
