Actually some good free stuff ready to go I found in the Leadwerks website - the importing into CC was the easiest I have ever experienced to date on any asset...

I'm not sure if you are allowed to use for commercial use but worth checking....

Download free stuff, import glb/gltf into Blender 2.80 (latest one) and export as DAE then into CC - all textures came and auto loaded...nice ! - just link normal textures.

Only took me like 15 minutes to get this level ready from them..

(not sure if standard but needed about 11,11,11 scale up to match default soldier size in CC)

Good find, they have some o.k. stuff.
Is there a way to open their Mdl files without the LW editor? I've tried fragM, 3DGS and MilkShape but it didn't work.

I tried opening their password protected zip files and need the password...

Leadwerks is a close competitor to CC as it also is a 32 bit application and so whatever runs ok in LW will run fine in CC also...from the same era.

LW may have the advantage over CC TBH though as it also has specular texture maps while CC doesn't, amongst other things...
LW is coming out with a new upgraded engine this month using the Vulkan engine from memory and said to be backward compatible to its previous engine games also - very much like Game Guru Max also backward compatible with Game Guru Classic....both these 2 game engines will soon surpass CopperCube and unfortunately leave it in the dust....

Still, CC is enough for me at the moment and enough to get a game out of it - too much work in starting over again..

Note both Game Guru Max (Win 10 only) and LeadWerks 5 (Win, Linux & Mac) are both for PC only so CC will still have some appeal for Web and smart phone games....which has been its main appeal over time anyways...

But both Leadwerks and Game Guru Max are heavily invested in VR because that is the future of interactive gaming. CopperCube has totally dismissed VR. It seems to me Niko is just not interested enough in VR to care. Too bad the rest of the world is. I was willing to PAY to have Oculus Quest support and Niko flat out denied it. Not worth his time.

I’ve moved on....

Lots of people asking about VR in coppercube. It's very simple to convert any 3D game.exe into VR for Oculus (using VorpX), including coppercube game.exe's - it really doesn't need to be added into coppercube by Niko.

Coppercube is free and you can use your own assets and then convert the finished game.exe to VR in less than a minute - pretty much automatically.

Leadwerks costs $85, Gameguru Pro costs $50 (Alpha pre-order)....then you need to purchase additional asset packs to make a game with them.

Coppercube is completely free! If you'd be happy to pay for Niko to add VR to coppercube - just buy one of the following 3rd party VR drivers for $36 instead (use the 30 free trial first to make sure it works with your game) - job done......

If you want to use a PS4 headset instead of Occulus Rift, use Trinus PSVR driver with VorpX.

If you want a quick and free option, install reshade to your coppercube.exe. Then select the VR post-process options ( you dont get head-tracking with reshade though).
