32 bit applications are limited to use up to 2GB RAM. The memory limit seems to be the most limiting factor with CopperCube as when I run my game certain sections only getting 40-45 FPS - both CPU & GPU under 45% utilization. Happily there seems to be a fix for 64 bit operating systems that allow you to access up to 4GB RAM while still using 32-bit applications. You patch the exe file using this patch: https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371 I tried it in the exe of my game and it allowed the FPS to go to full 60 FPS instead so big improvement. I haven't tried it in the editor but maybe with that also. (Make a backup first of any key exe files you patch) Let me know how you go.... |

this is great to know... if you patch your game, does it still run the same on a 32 bit system? Probably not a big issue thought as I don't know anyone still using a single core CPU... these days most everyone has 64 bit systems. (Niko - an update to CC 64bit would be most appreciated...) thanks for sharing! |
