I am new user and cannot understand why my spaces in first line of new paragraphs fail to indent. I edited the html code in Dreamweaver, saved the page, opened in Rocket but no indents. Searched this form and find that indent and tab do not code, so I inserted XXXX where I want an indent and then change the color to white to match my background, and it now has indented paragraphs! |

You can probably also use non breaking spaces instead. |

I did try using insert bon-breaking space, and then had to copy and paste 4 times for indent. Both are time consuming and something that should not be needed. I wish there were an easier way such as a one step css setting for paragraphs to make the default indent. I will continue to look for a way. |

Since RocketCake 4, it supports bullet lists and intents. You are replying to an old post where RocketCake didn't support this. This is no longer the case. |

I am using a registered version 4.8 and do not see any way to indent paragraph. I tried using (space) 4 times with no success - it looks OK in preview but not when saved and uploaded to server. |

in the top bar for text formatting you can find the buttons for enumerations and indentations on the right side |

Those settings are for ordered and unordered lists. I am asking about indenting paragraphs and have never mentioned anything about lists. |

Not sure how wide your screen is and maybe something is being truncated, but my version 4.8 clearly has paragraph indent icons directly to the right of the ordered and unordered list icons and to the immediate left of the "show invisible characters" button. |

My toolbar has but one paragraph icon and nothing to the right. Using v4.8. I have screen capture but no idea to attach here. Avery |

I have those increase and decrease icons to the left of the paragraph icon, but when I use increase indent it inserts a bullet as if the paragraph is an unordered list and indents the entire paragraph. I want to add 4 spaces at the beginning of each paragraph to indent the first line only, like with all other HTML editors and word processor apps I have been using for many years. I can see no way to edit the css for paragraphs and that would a way to do this. This is such a basic part of web design and should be included with an indent paragraph feature or something else besides inserting 4 non-breaking spaces for each paragraph. |

If you put each paragraph into a separate container and use the CSS text-indent property you will get exactly what you want. For example text-indent: 50px;will create a first line 50px indent. Just right-click the container, select "HTML Code ...", "Additional CSS styles", and enter the code snippet. See here for more options: https://www.w3schools.com/cssref... |

Avery, you're absolutely correct. I've never used those buttons before, but the indent seems to act just like an unordered list, and throws up a bullet as soon as I use it. That's not right I don't think... |
||||
|
Right, and as if that wasn't crazy enough, you can't get rid of the bullet by clicking "Decrease indent". Once you got it you got it. PS: niko, don't worry. I'm quite happy with RocketCake, even if it can't do magic. And for most challenges that came my way I could find an additional HTML or CSS solution. |

Use the undo Ctrl Z command. |

Yes, I know. But just from logic I would expect to get back by clicking the opposite of what I've clicked before. |
