How do I test my php form

Basically, just that, how do I test a php form that I've just added to a page? I tried testing it in the preview, but this gave me the message - 'File was not found. It may have been moved or deleted'. To be honest, I didn't think it would work using the preview, but I thought it was worth a try.

My next plan is to upload the php file to a LAMP server that I have access to and try it from there, but there is already an index.php file in the public_html folder, so where else could I upload it to. I have cPanel.

Make a subfolder in your server and test it there.

Yes,, of course. Silly question.

Except, what exactly do I upload to the sub folder?

In the folder on my local disk for the current project I now have the following:

A folder called 'Images'
index.html
index.php
index.rcd
index_php (css)
index (css)

I assume that the index.html and index css files are now redundant and that I only need to upload the index.php and index css files? What about the .rcd file? Do I upload this as well?

Mini edit...

OK, it works! I worked out which files to upload and the php form works very well. The submitted form data was sent to the target email address, so I'm happy.
