I will edit this now that Niko has shown up again. However, I will re-post this if he disappears for a very very very very long period of time again. Mike |

WTF, this is not even remotely true. Please don't keep posting factually wrong assertions into this forum. karmacomposer wrote: Niko has been a no show on CC forums for years! Come on. Seriously? That's ridiculous, even by your own standards. This is supposed to be a user form, where users can exchange and help each other, and it works. From time to time, I also answer lots of questions here. If you have a more serious question, just drop me a mail, I usually answer this with a detailed solution within under 48 hours. Since CC6 is free, user numbers exploded, and so have support requests, of course. It's a bit difficult keeping up with all that. |

I agree with the "years" thing being a big stretch. Your resources are being allocated more towards Smart City Plan at the moment if I had to guess, so time to work on this program + the other ones is minimal. I don't think it's abandoned. I think it was just bad timing since you released 6 for free and likely had an insatiable thirst to work on games again shortly after. It's understandable, but I can see why some users (including myself) are somewhat annoyed at the lack of major minor updates (if that makes sense) Oh, and yes, I can vouch for his response claim in regards to emails. I've sent him numerous emails since 6 was released, all were responded to in a reasonable time-frame. |

I completely agree with @Niko, the thing is that since coppercube 6 turned into a freeware the forum started flooding with lots of question and for anybody, it is impossible to reply to all those posts, and yeah this is a user forum, so if you are having some sort of difficulty or problem with your Coppercube project then you can ask the same, but there are more chances that your post will be answered by other Coppercube users, the community here is really helping, Sometimes Niko might answer to your post himself, whenever he gets time from his games, irrklang, rocket cake, website painter, Copperlicht, and lots of other handy tools of which he is the sole developer. He also has a family so for a single human being it is not easy to satisfy the needs of all the human beings on the earth, After all, this, if you contact him via the contact forum, you will definitely going to get a reply from his side. as you have posted this totally false statement that we should not ask him for features and bugs, then once again you are wrong my friend @karmacomposer, Its been not so many days that I was having a bug in my project of helix jump demo, I asked Niko to help me out with that work and he did, but I was unable to reproduce that bug and found that I was so fool that I asked for a bug report which I was not able to reproduce. so if you have a serious problem then you can simply ask him by sending him a mail or contacting through the ambeira contact form its that simple. I would rather like him to code or solve bugs on his projects rather than answering to those questions which had been already asked on this forum begore or maybe, he should make the search bar available at the home page instead of a search button which opens a new tab. and maybe pinning some of the most asked questions posts at the of the forums might be a good idea to minimize the numbers of questions that have been already answered. I have been using this engine for 5 years, and am still in love with this engine. As I have mentioned so many times before coppercube has got all the things that are needed for making a full-fledged working game but it depends on the developer himself how he utilizes those tools if you have got the ability you can script a workaround for most of the problems. I always recommend creating 2D games with coppercube as they are easy to make and require a very less amount of features, If you are going to create 3D games then there are high chances that there will be a point during game developing that you will start thinking to drop the project because you (in most of the case) will be stuck with something at some point in your game project. so go with 2D but if 3D is what you want then I would like to suggest don't go for too many features and don't imagine your game as some sort of AAA game. be minimalistic and by the end of the development am pretty sure you will be satisfied with the result. |

karmacomposer wrote: Don't bother reporting bugs or asking for new anything. Niko has been a no show on CC forums for years! The fact is, it's likely he gave up and has moved on. It's a serious shame as Coppercube is a good engine but lacks in tons of areas now. He should open source all of it or sell it to someone willing to pick up the reigns and fix bugs/develop it further. Mike > I believe he is overloaded and must have a way to find employees without losing his profits. there is another way to make the coppercube project fully open. with the help of other developers and still generate profits. well, i think you should look for a new way to win with a copper cube. and at the same time receive help from programmers. that you can really add more features. |

Niko, I have been a rock solid supporter for years and spent plenty of money on Coppercube, including a full pro business license on 6. I have asked numerous questions here on these forums and not once have you answered any of them for months and months and months, so yes, I feel you gave up. However, since you seem to have re-emerged from where ever you went, it's nice to see you finally. Any chance of updates? VR support for windows mixed reality and oculus quest? Let us know. Mike |

the last question I had about a feature in CC (a few weeks ago) I asked Niko in an email and he answered right away - he asked why I needed it, so I replied with a quick explanation and he answered that he would look into adding it to a future update. Bravo! Niko has not gone away - and I believe he has every intention to continue to improve and release new versions of CC... and I will gladly pay for the PRO version when it comes out. CC has been a great easy to use game engine and like @karmacomposer I have been a supporter for years (yes, I too have complained about waiting) but the bottom line is I would recommend CC to anyone who wants to make their ideas into a working Game. I have made several and worked on a number of projects for other people... if I can make games - so can everyone... Thanks to Niko and Everyone else who has helped me along the way. Good job people! |
