Maybe can try Godot game engine? You may like GDScript. Vulkan is coming in Godot 4.0. It has 2d and 3d. Themes support in the GUI controls. Can use trenchboom editor via Qodot plugin and etc...

Leadwerks 4 is dead. The developer is focusing on Leadwerks 5 (you need to buy it again). S2Engine is unstable and the dev is focusing on his own game created using S2Engine.

Godot... ooh I don't like it. The interface and workflow is the most confusing thing I've ever messed with. People rant and rave about it, but really: it's convoluted.

S2Engine has potential, but it needs some serious improvements. It seems like everything which is needed for a proper game to be made is there (AI, navigation meshes, invisible walls, etc..) but it's so confusing to use. It seems like very few people apart from the developer himself can use it to its full potential...

Hopefully some day Nikolaus will completely discard the current rendering system and add a PBR system. My dream engine is basically CC as it is now, but with S2's visuals. That would be a match made in heaven. haha.

Wow @j9907, it seems we both agree on the PBR thingy.

Come to think of it, what other 3D game engine have a drag and drop IDE with JavaScript as scripting language ?

cc is dead...still use DX9 on 2020, we need big update with latest dx or volcan ...and niko disappeared from forum, i hope this engine is not abandoned...

Sorry @adeb I disagree BUT I do respect your opinion, CC will NEVER die.
I have used CC for big Hollywood name websites, YES ! CopperCube uses WebGL which will live for as long as the internet is alive unlike Flash which is proprietary.

Any website you have created using CopperCube will work FOREVER, so no it will not die

I'd be curious to know if projects made in the current version would be compatible with a new CC version which had a PBR rendering system in place... hmm.

Here's a video of S2's graphical capabilities. It's truly mind-blowing!

Thank you adeb, https://playcanv.as/p/44MRmJRU/ looks beautiful.
But what if I tell you it is possible that with CopperCube :D

There are no specular highlights from the lights reflecting off the concrete, so we are not talking about old ancient specular/glossiness workflow nor the latest PBR workflow.
CopperCube can do this no problem.
Why ? Because as long as you don't depend on CopperCube's Global Illumination system and use Blender's cycle light baking, you will get the same result if not better.

CopperCube's water reflection is probably just as good as that demo.

There is only one thing, ONLY ONE THING that that demo does that I think CopperCube maybe can't do...the reflection on the glass.
CopperCube can do reflection but I assume the reflections are actual reflections, notice that I use the word "assume", if that is true then that is the only thing I am impressed by.
Everything else, the volumetrics...they can all be faked in CopperCube...

Too bad my CopperCube video did not get much attention, or else I might make a series on it :-(

Nice video Bracer!

Niko is gone. He has obviously given up on CC. I wish he would either sell it or make it open source so others can work on improvements and bug fixes.

I wish...

be careful what you wish for....
if Niko let it go, it wouldn't take long before CC was over run. It wouldn't be "quick and easy" CC anymore.... it would be "learn ALL the new added stuff" CC.

but then, there's always GameGuru.... oh wait, GameGuru Max will be out in September...

GameGuru is a joke, and I'm sure the whole "Max' version will be the same deal. It isn't even close to what I'd call a proper game maker, because it isn't.

CopperCube is the closest (and best thing) available if you want to make a proper 3D game with minimal coding. I really like the program as a whole, but things in certain areas are just lacking (multi-core lightmapping is something I'd love to have - CC's lightmapper is 100% ideal for my maps, but the length of time it takes is insane). A non-PBR rendering system is a bit of a downer too, but not everybody is aiming for photo-realistic visuals...

Coppercube is a simple engine for creating games.
You have to do simple ideas to the games.

Coppercube doesn't work for big projects.
Coppercube is working for simple ideas and simple gameApps. It's just to make some money.

Coppercube is working for little and funny games.
This is the point: Coppercube is for Android games and Web games.

Coppercube is able to simple and lucrative idea!
