When I type text in a container I can't move it to where I want it, it just snaps back to the top corner. How do I place it where I want it?

It anchors itself in the document between other elements. If you have other containers or other text, you can drag it in between those, for example.
If you really want to move it freely, set its "Position Mode" to "free position". Then you can move it anywhere on the screen. But it probably won't behave exactly like you want it to when the size of the website or device changes, so it is probably better to use the default mode.
