Just some technical questions I have (and also a suggestion or two) :

Question 1: How many scenes can a single CCB file store? I'd guess anything over 200 is unreasonable. I'm just curious if the editor has a hard-coded limit of some kind... I don't have the entire game in a single CCB file anyways, as I am working on each level in separate CCB files and I'll merge each one into a "central" file and work from there...

Question 2: Why does the editor save some sounds and not others? It appears to be a threshold of some kind. Basically if a sound file is over _ MB don't save it. otherwise, save it in the file... I sent a CCB with various sounds to someone for work, and I noticed some sounds were left intact but the other ones (such as ambience and music) were taken out. In the editor you can hear your SFX even if they aren't on the disk, so maybe have it so all sounds can be saved + can be exported by the user to disk... This would also make collaboration more easy... Not to mention backups would be easier too!

Question 3: When is the next update coming out? It's been almost a year since 6.0.2 came out and, sorry, but it's annoying at this point... It seems like work has completely stopped since 6 came out. I think a lot of this stems from the fact that you made a fully free edition so you don't feel like there's enough of an obligation to work on it. Unfortunate, really. I truly hope the next update will include a preview of the D3D11 renderer as I'm excited for that!

That's all. Q3 is more of a ramble than a question, but I had to ask...

Yes, number 3 is a bit worrying, at least for me. It has been almost a year, at this point I'm not even concerned about the specific updates, I'm more concerned that things seem to be slowing down up to the point of full stop.
I hope that development will continue, it's a very nice & easy to use engine and, to be a bit selfish, I did invest a lot of time in getting familiar with it & with work on my game.
To be honest I'm not even waiting for any major updates, I can finish my game with available set of tools but it's very important to know that I will be able to potentially fix my game if something major happens to WebGL or Android technology, or if the new version of Windows/DirectX/Java starts messing up my game.

Indeed. I've gone knee-deep in the engine and have concluded it's more or less ideal for my project.

Niko said a few years ago that he won't let CC die and fade away like other engines of this type have (no-programming workflow I mean). It's very capable, but some things are just holding it back from being the best it can be.

With the new macOS coming out (10.15 Catalina), it won't support 32 bit apps at all and obviously CC is a purely 32 bit application. Either Niko takes the time to update CC's codebase so it's a fully 64 bit application (both Windows + Mac), or he will simply discontinue the Mac version entirely... the latter seems like the most likely outcome. He could then give all paying Mac users a free Pro / Studio license for the Windows version as an apology.

Overall, things are looking somewhat bad for the overall program. 4-5 months ago I saw posts with people complaining about this and I got mad as I thought it was ridiculous, but now I actually agree with the people who are disappointed in the lack of updates. We're seven months into the year and there hasn't been a single change or update... That's unfortunate!

You are right, the main problem seems to be shifted from the development of the new features to maintaining the compatibility with constantly changing OS versions. That's my biggest worry about the engine at this moment.
My first encounter with Niko & CC fixes when something crucial happens to a target platforms was extremely positive:
https://www.ambiera.com/forum.ph...
The API Level compatibility was fixed in a single day! That was incredible speed & efficiency and it gave users feeling that all similar (essential) problems would be fixed as soon as possible or, at least, fixed in a rational amount of time.
I must admit I'm a bit worried because since then nothing, and I mean nothing, was developed further. Not even some minor updates to, let's say, 2D Layout font or something equally small...
I'm not complaining because I don't know what's happening behind the curtains, I may be completely off, but it's a cause for concern.

Something off-topic:

The scientific symbol name for Copper is "Cu". Can't be a coincidence, @niko
