Fading objects or animating change of shape

Hi,
I want to animate an object being re-constructed - for example a broken bowl being made into a complete bowl - I was thinking of fading between different stages of the reconstruction - is it possible to change the alpha of the whole mesh so that I can fade between each stage?

Thanks,

Mark

No, there is no alpha-blending available but if you separate model's geometry by parts & textures (let's say 5 textures/materials for 5 parts of the model) you can make each part first transparent and than solid by changing material type through code.

Thanks - I thought that may be the case - I was thinking of using transparent areas in the textures and animating through several stages - but it looks a bit weird when you apply transparencies to an object with two sides - the other option is to flick between several meshes (they are all low poly) - I'll see what I can do - perhaps a combination of textures and meshes :)

Thanks,

Mark
