So i have this 3d Character files. It came with a variety of different animations. I managed to import the character in his Idle animation to my scene, added his textures.

Now he is standing there, breathing, looking around - idle animation

Well how do i add his other animations ? The animation editor just repeats the idle animation over and over and theres nothing for me to do?

edit: i got a bunch of animation files, which are 3D Object files.

To play a diffent animation you have to use behaviors or actions.

For example you can add a on key press behavior then you can add an action set animarion of a scene node and there you can choose another animation you want to play.

To edit animations of your models.
You can use the inbuilt animation editor which will make you enable to create diffent seta of animation.

Thanks!

hey thanks for answering,

i cant put any other animations in coppercube in the first place

i try to make myself as clear as i can since english is not my first language:

The 3d Modeled Character came with multiple individual animations that have a animated copy of the 3d Model ( lets say mutant from now on) bind to them

so that leaves me with : A 3D-File that has the Mutant RUNNING and -JUST- running. I can-not add another one of these files to THIS PARTICULAR mutant. CopperCube doesnt seem to allow this. I will add a few screenshots.

I can not swap inbetween the animations of the mutant.

I can add multiple mutants tho- each and every one with their unique ONE-SINGLE animation.

Coppercube can play only those animations that are bound to the model. You will have to join all animations that you need in one model & in an external program.
Once you joined animations, if you created sets I would suggest to export to FBX & if you joined all animations together in one sequence than DirectX format would be better.
Also if you have joined animations in one sequence you will have to create sets inside Coppercube.

Not stuck but perhaps paused until you merge those animations. There are tutorials for doing it with different free and more or less free software. Once you learn either way, it will work fine! As we got fbx-support in CC, I'd say its much more smoother now to import animations, and I'm really grateful for that!

Depending on which file format your files are in, different software/methods could solve the task better than others.
Search the forum for tutorials/descriptions for doing it in Blender (free) and perhaps in Fragmotion (free with annoying "ads"), even though it's most suitable for making .x-files, b3d-files and ms3d.
On You Tube, there should be videos to find for Blender and IClone(not free, which I often use, so you could ask me if you tend to use IClone).

Would be nice to have tips and tutorials about this and other stuff collected and easier to find at one place. There is a wiki with some more info on which all of you out there can easily contribute to if you like:
