Shadows are a pain

So I am about ready to rip my hair out... It is a nightmare to try and get any form of decent shadows. Is there a program out there which can calculate and then bake the shadows onto the model somehow (so it's on the model right off the bat and isn't calculated at runtime)?

Hmm... Can't understand you completely but I think you are saying that you calculate shadows and the at the runtime they won't work??
And yes there's a built-in feature in Coppercube by which you can bake the shadows on everything tagged with "Static (lightmaps)" in the textures tab. When everything is set click "Calculate" in the "Light Mapping" tab at the Top.

This method will bake textures on the model...

And even if you delete the light source nothing will happen meaning shadows are baked:

I was meaning: it is hard to get the lighting and shadows so they look decent. I just wanted to know if any methods outside of CC's lightmap calculator could be used

Yes. I found this trick right when answering you.
Just add some bigger numbers in the "Light Mapping" tab
1. Do texture size to the largest one (1024x1024)
2. Make resolution to 1080.
3. Do subsampling to the largest one (x25).

And if you want to make it from other software use Blender.

Here's the method:
1. Export desired Mesh from CopperCube.
2. Import in Blender.
3. Switch to Cycles Render.
4. Add Lights (Lightning in blender is much more realistic). You can change
Color, Intensities of Light. You can achieve Shadows Variation with the distance of object from shadow casting surface and Caustics too.
5. UV unwrap the mesh.
6. Bake the shadows on the mesh.

Blender will provide the baked texture Save it & Apply it to Coppercube's Mesh.
You can Find Bunch of tutorials online. Blender has a large Community.

I might just give up on this project for now since Blender's so damn confusing for this stuff and CC's way of handling shadows is very bad... Sorry to say.

I just solved the issue. I'm going to set up the shadows for the levels in separate project files and I will then delete the level model and save the lights and such as prefabs. Then I'll import the lights and then recalculate. bam.

You will set up the lights on model in Blender, export that level (with only lights and not model) and than import that lights in Coopercube level?

Hmm? I don't know how to do that in Blender at all. I had to import the level model parts (4 sections) and do the shadows for them individually. Then i exported the lights as prefabs and took a mental note of where the first light was placed. Then I selected them all and moved them. then calculated. done
