Hello, I have a recent problem with Irredit, of which I haven't had a problem with until now. With updates to .b3d files from 3dsmax Irredit is failing to recognise the newly updated files. I have made sure that the working directory is that of the one I'm working with and I have even deleted the bd3. files and they are still showing up in irredit! I'm using Windows Vista and think it may be a problem with the cache' or the way vista deals with the date modifiers in the sense that irredit must be reading the file information from somewhere else or is being made to by vista in a redirect? I only come to this conclusion because its fine when I use Windows XP. Any offers of a soultion would be greatly appreciated. Murphz |

Hi, what do you mean exactly with 'recognise updated files'? What are you clicking/doing, and what shoud irredit do? |

Irr Edit is failing to load in the new updated b3d mesh. and is still showing the original mesh even though I have saved a newer b3d. over it. I have even deledted the file and made a new verson but it still shows the old mesh in irredit?! I have a mesh (A) and update it with a mesh (B). Both are exported from 3dsmax. Both have the same name Mesh i.e ( GR_SC1.b3d ) What is happening in irredit it is failing to recognise the update. and is displaying the old mesh as if I have not saved over it. Even when I DELETE the file GR_SC1.b3d from the working directory it is STILL showing up in irredit! Where is it reading its information from ? Is it cached somehow? This is true fro the actual mesh and the uvw co-ordinates but not with the textures that are stored in the same working directory as the textures in ch. 1 and lightmaps in ch.2 change as they should .. why not the mesh and it uvws? |

irrEdit is caching meshes. You need to restart it in order to make your change visible. But I'm not sure if this helps because you said this is not happening when you use windows XP, so either this is not true or you are already restarting irrEdit and this is a real problem. :) |

yeah it does seems to be a strange one alright.. obviously I restart irredit.. Did you have anything like this happen when you used it with vista? |

|
Obviously is has'nt been tested in Vista? what about windows 7? |

I guess you are saving the file in the program files directory? Don't do that in Vista, Vista behaves a bit strange there. Of course irrEdit has been tested in Vista, actually, irrEdit is being developed unter vista. :) |

Hello again, I'm still have problems with irredit importing .b3d meshes. Would it make a diffrence if irredit is installed & run from a different location other than c:/programfiles/irredit. The .b3d meshes are also stored in a different location other than c:/programfiles/irredit. as well. |
