It is so frustrating when all of your time and efforts goes into vain.... When your project shown that coppercube can't load the file it is either corrupted or is not a coppercube file...

Always have 2 copies of your project... After every save make a duplicate of your copy... I was working on a prohect last day... And today when i tried to open the project i lost it... Ita size jas become 0 bytes and coppercube can't load it now...

My 9 hours of efforts and coding has gone all i vain... Now i have to start it again...

So it adviced you to always double check your saved file and make backups as many as possible...

So that you won't have to regret later...
Now i have to work on the project again...

Try contacting Niko maybe if you give him the project file he can recover or fix it.

i don't think that niko can do anything... because the size of project file becomes 0 bytes... and i have developed half again from starting... so i think it is now that much important to recover the project.... the project was a turn based board game.. Snake and Ladder ... which was a very popular board game in India... and i was developing it to upload on my website..

so that community can learn how to create a turn based board game with coppercube... Coppercube is a 3d game engine but i prefer to make 2d games with it...

I had also tried to do something in 2D but to handle the sprite images is a bit complicated.

If you see my example projects ... You will notice that it is not that complicated...😂😂

Just go to the assets sections on the website and download any source they all are in 2d... Or go with any tutorial... They are also made for 2d games only..

I looked at the tutorial of the game Mario is the same method that I used.
The work becomes long and certain sprite animations are difficult to use.
In the tutorial you haven't explained or mentioned (I didn't see it) how to extract the single images from the sprites.

Yeah, sorry if i forgot to mention... I use Gimp to extract or sepearte files into several png's ... You can't simply use whole spritesheet into the programme... Coppercube still lacks sprites functionality...

You can also use texture packer/unpacker to convert spritesheet into single PNG's.

Yes. I agree. I have lost several levels due to weird loading issues. The last one happened when I upgraded to the beta (no longer in beta now) 6.0.2 and lost one of my scenes and my third person player (prefab) was missing and had to be inserted back.

In the end, I had to scrap it all and just start over.

I am used to saving backups, 2nd backups and sometimes more than 3 backups of levels in other engines due to unpredictable results.

Coppercube had been the most stable of all the engines for me till I updated to 6.0.2 and lost stuff.

Now it's out of beta and a stable update, but not sure if it will kill my levels, so I made plenty of backups.

I bought a 1 month plan for MEGA (their 1 TB Pro plan) and I have my development directories (I have 2 directories in the C drive root) set up so any changes I make to the CCB files and other things will be reflected upon on my MEGA backup. It's quite nice since if my hard drive crashes, then I can simply download my backups and start from just before it died on me!

All of my game projects are so corrupted - over and over - that I have given up.

Coppercube is broken somehow - I cannot seem to create multiple scenes without other ones begin missing items, moving items or they just won't even load.

I've become totally disenchanted - wasted hours and hours and have moved on looking for an engine I can use to create our games.

Oh, no... This is terrible, Mike (sorry if you don't want me to call you by your first name - let me know if not). I was really looking forward to the sewer game (when it was being made in CC - I still look forward to it, but it was quite promising...)
