Sorry for so many questions, but I am evaluating this seriously for our games.

What would the best way to make a flashlight for the player that could turn on via a key pressed, such as 'T'?

Thanks.

You can simply toggle visibility of a light on or off with the the behaviour when a key is pressed do something.... Or can also use variables...

But with no spotlight, how can you simulate a flashlight? There's no cone to edit. A normal everyday light is not very realistic.

You must enable the IrrEdit/Irrlicht properties in the View menu.
From there you can change the type of light example spot type to simulate a flashlight.

Thank you, the option was not in the view menu. It was in the options menu, first tab.

I finally worked out a way to show a flashlight in CopperCube.
See my video - any feedback or comments welcome:

Very cool. I will have to use that with my FPS games. Very nice.

Here is a quick flashlight for CC 6.02 - I didn't spend much time on this, so you might want to adjust it to fit your needs. .ccb file is included.

Thank you. I will try this out. If it uses Vignette, then it will not be usable on mobile platforms, BTW.

no, it doesn't use any post effects- no JavaScript either...just very simple. turn light on, turn light off....let's you see around you in dark environment.

The file is gone, and when I try to change it in the Irrlicht menu, it points in the opposite direction of what I want and I can't seem to change that.
