Greetings, First off, nice tool. I have a few suggestions after just a few minutes of working with the editor. 1. Have the speed of the camera scale with the zoom. Some of the models I am working with are verry small and when zoomed in it is impossible to control the camera. 2. Impliment an orbital camera so that it revolves around the currently selected item. That way you can easily view a model from all sides by orbiting around it. Thanks Archimagus |

Back to Irredit after a long time. My requests today will mainly be selfish, although they may help a lot of people. I am working in a design which includes a lot of natural elements such as trees, grasses, etc... Spreading grass on a big map is such a pain in the ass when you do it manually. Would be cool to have a tool to spread it automatically on a terrain mesh, using a heighmap for regulating intensity. The interesting point would also be to make it appear gradually in order to spare memory, as it is the case for most large-environnement-displaying games. Of course, that could work also for little rocks and anything which may be spread on a terrain randomly. I do not know if it could be useful for a lot of people. It is for you to say. Bye ;D |

Texture window bug: In Windows Vista (32-bit) with Aero enabled the texture window is blank. So maybe it's possible to give it Aero support or to make IrrEdit kill Aero temporary just like PaintShop Pro does... [EDIT] Just found a post adressing the same bug and the same temporary fix. Sorry didn't find it before when I was using the search... At least it's in the bugs section now :) |

Have another one ;) After setting the Options->WorkingDirectory in IrrEdit, it now gives this message behind the splashscreen each time I start the program: Note: I haven't restarted my comp for quite a while now, so the bug might be gone by tomorrow morning. :) |
||||
|
No, that's intention. But maybe going to add a checkbox so the window won't appear :) |

In addition to a undo/redo perhaps a history would help. Just a thought. Oh and keep up the work. |
||||

Yes seriously, an undo/redo history would be awesome for this program. Really would help everyone overall who likes to go back and rearrange things from what they did previously. |

That's true :) |

Fantastic work - I'm finding this editor extremely useful. Here are some of my suggestions: 1. Plugins don't appear to load if they don't have an associated icon in the resources directory. How about using a default icon for these plugins? 2. When adding a custom scene node, if would be really useful if there was some kind of mechanism to ask the user for, say, a filename that can be made available for the construction of that scene node. 3. User data please :) 4. Disable right-click context menu when running a game plugin 5. An option to enable v-sync by default when running game plugins. 6. It would be ace if a different working directory was stored for each different copy of IrrEdit stored on disk |

in the material type options, all types below normalmap_trans_add are not selectable, would be very useful to have these features that i belive are apart of engine but are not implemented in the editor. as mentiond before the multiple selection and move/rotate etc. would be very usefull also a merge or import for function to load more than one .irr file into a level, as people could make part of the world in one and part in another and then want to merge the 2 into one super level. also deleting the textures you dont want would be nice and not that important but a help system that tells you how to use all the different features/tools. |

also another feature that would save me a hell of alot of time is the ability to clone OctTree meshes, i have a massive level that is mirrord side by side and that entire floor exactly the same for the next 2 floors, as it stands i have to move each individual object to their position and then add a new one. edit* just wondering hoe close the features like multiple selection are to implementing and when the next release will be? |

it would be nice if cameras would have something attached to them that points in the direction the camera is looking. An simple arrow would do. |

im just working a couple of days with it, nice tool. I dont know if it has been posted (or if the editor have it) but an object placer would be great, like if i activate it, object cannot traspass each other, for example for placing chairs in the floor, trees on terrain, etc. thx |

Here are some features that the Level Editor I use at work have that make it nice, I'd like to share. Feature Requests: Object Snap to Terrain Surface Object Snap to other Object Surfaces Navigation in the scene in a FPS style (WSAD keys) Prefab support That is all I can think of at the moment. Keep up the good work! |

Bug: Loading up .obj models in the editor, they look correct on the model. But after loading the exported .irr scene, models with multiple textures have their textures in the wrong places. The order of textures in the .irr export seems to be wrong. |
