I recently purchased a song from the www.hdtracks.com website in FLAC audio format with 96kHz/24bit sample rates. I played the song using the "Media Player Classic" application without issues but the song fails to play properly using my .Net 4.0 application which uses irrKlang for audio playback. It attempts to play but it only outputs a few seconds of strange sounds and then stops playback. In order to make sure that my code or project setup was not causing the problems, I attempted to playback the file using the irrKlangPlayer.exe sample that is included with the irrKlang distribution and it exhibits the same behavior. Any help would be appreciated. I can send the file to you through email if you would like to reproduce the behavior. Thanks, Brett |

I think the best way is to send the file to niko (his mail adress is printed under Support -> Contact). Otherwise, try re-encoding the file. This usually helps. |

Update, if someone else has this problem: This was a 24 bits per sample flac file, irrklang only supports 16 and 8 bit. The next update (1.5) will support 24 bit flac files as well. |
