Even if Cc 7 would stay fixed function. ( which pretty much is what makes it easy and fast to load and get started). What would be nice. Access to all 8 hardware texture units. The ability to set their blend mode per texture. Even if just in code and not the editor. Access to the depth buffer. Alpha and object render order. The ability to tell the lightmapper which texture slot to use. So we can have lightmaps and normal maps together. Might be a little jarring when normals turned off from a light source. But setup right it could look very good. I just mean basic light maps not bent normals or anything like that where the maps themselves affect the normals. Anyone else think of anything available in fixed function dx9 that cc is lacking? Sam. |

There are some more advanced attributes and material properties available through the Irrlicht Properties panel. Not much fixed function but for me improved shadows and maybe some shader compiler features. I use ReShade for final rendering so not much of a deal really. |

Does reshade add shadows too? |

Yes, kind of using a mix of screen space and AO shadows. it's not perfect but makes a difference. |
