I can't remember how to do it. Blender is just so ridiculously overcomplicated and each new version seems different to the last. I think because I haven't used it in so long, it looks completely different to me now and I haven't got a clue where to start. So sorry about that. From memory, there was a modifier that split the cube into smaller cubes (possibly subdivision), another modifier added random shapes to those fragments (so they weren't all just square), then a particle system made them move (I think). To explode it, I added an "invisible" sphere with collision/physics, and placed it in the center of the model to displace the pieces. Looking at it now though, I can't find any of those options. I havve zero blender-skills but the tutorial was just so simple that I could follow it step by step. I looked everywhere but I cant find the youtube video. I do have some tutorials saved on a Harddrive so I'll check if I have a backup of it so I may be in luck there.... |

Oh okay |
OK - so I found the video saved on my harddrive! So I should be able to make the animation for you tomorrow :) |
Hurray, i'm very happy you found it Alright, i will expect them tomorrow |

OK, pretty much done. I will upload the file in a moment (I just need to figure out how to save it in blender and import to coppercube (fbx wont work - so I suspect that's why I opted for b3d instead) but just for reference, here's how I did it... Blender 4.5, download and install "cell fracture" addon. Import your model and click "object>quick effect>cell fracture",set noise to "0.5", click OK. Delete the original model and keep the new cell-fractured version. Add a plane (under your model) and press "s" to scale it like a floor under the model (for collision). select the cell-fractured model and click "object>rigid body>active. select the floor-place and click "objecct>rigid body>passive. That's it - Done! Click play to see it shatter. |

here's the blend file of your model shattering you.... https://pastelink.net/1u89q0pe Here's the tutorial I followed... https://youtu.be/EblQRXPaAng?feature=shared |

That's great but i do not have UU3DPro to convert to b3d, i can't afford it from the part of the world that i live in |
I used to have a blender plugin called "better fbx exporter" but I've not used blender in years so I don't have it any more - from memory, only 2015 fbx will work in coppercube. The v4.5 blender fbx wont open in ultimate unwrap either - so I can't cconvert it to b3d unless I remember how to export as 2015 fbx from Blender. All the export addons and extensions seem to be missing from the latest blender. |
Hi man, the blend file you sent doesn't work for me because I use blender 3.2, If you don't mind try sending me the fbx files that you've generated so that I install blender 2.8 and convert it to fbx 2015, then finally I resend to you to do it it in b3d |
That's a good idea... event better, I can actually just uninstall v4.5 and install blender v3.2. Then if I remake the animations, I can send the 3.2 blend file for you to open. I can make the blend file with the winged and grounded creatures and make 2 explosions for each (a simple shatter and drop to floor and an explode into pieces like a grenade). With the 2015 fbx, they will work in coppercube but I'll also convert them to b3d. I'll do that later today for you. |

OK, let's see what will happen |
I recommend trying it out in blender 2.79 rather, I just digged through the forums and realised that this is what might work, no addons are needed here, direct export to .x or old. fbx might be achieved using this, so let's check it out too, blender 2.79, I will install it right now |
Or VP, what do you think |
yes, 2.79 seems best option for coppercube - only thing is that cell-fracture and rigid body animation may not have been a thing back then. I will check. I can definitely get this working for you though. |
oh, thank you VP |
