Not sure what happened, but perhaps because I work on two computers that syncronise my .rcd files, but at some point the file paths to my images changed from my Documents folder to an "appdata" folder and then half my images (so far) wound up on the wrong pages. It looks like when you select an image to insert into a page in RocketCake, it notes the full file path, including drive letter and drilling all the way down to the final image. Heaven help you if you migrate to a new computer (as I also did) and your username changes (as mine did). Perhaps RocketCake could be set to just use the %userprofile%\documents folder as a default and let someone drill down from there? |

I think this happens if the original files are not on the new computer, so RocketCake 'ressurrects' them into that folder. Much better than having no images at all anymore. |

For sure! But it also feels like it might be useful to be able to move your assets folder, or work on multiple computers that are syncronised, and then it's more of a liability for it to make this change without any user interaction. Even warning you "can't find the original asset path" and giving you a chance to define the new one? |

The best way is to have the assets on a specific folder - like a network drive or something like C:\assets or similar - that would work |

I have a similiar issue as OP, all refereces to image files changed to some APPDATA folder. I have my assets in a subfolder of where my RCD file resides. Recently, I had to relocate the folder of my RCD file. Now in Rocketcake all my references to image files point to a folder in APPDATA instead of the actual folder where the original images reside (which, relative to the RCD file did not move). I suggest RC use relative paths for references that are in the same directory or a sub-directory of the RCD file and absolute paths only for assets outside that structure. |

Would also be an idea, will likely add something like that. |

Thanks martin, now I feel seen. I actually ended up moving the Documents folder on all my computers to the root of C:\ to help ensure that this could never happen again. Too traumatic when you have a site with hundreds of images. |
