Hello all,

I am needing a Javascript equivalent of "Object or Person controlled by keyboard" behavior. With movement and animation support. I need to modify it to check if a "PlayerActive" variable is true or not, and to remove the jumping out of it.

I have tried to replicate this under "Every few seconds do something" set to 1ms, but I am unsuccessful.

Does anybody have a movement example like this that I can research?

Thank you!

Hi! From what I understand from this post and the one I replied to earlier, you're planning to make a game inspired by the first Resident Evil titles for the original PlayStation — both visually and technically, using the classic 'tank' controls.

It seems like I’m the only one in this community (at least the part that’s active on the forum) who’s seriously working on games in the style of the original PlayStation. No offense to the guys who call their projects that, but there were no first-person games with mouse controls on the original PlayStation.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time working on shaders to give the game the proper aesthetic, as well as developing various controllers and similar elements. If you’re really interested in creating a PlayStation-style game, feel free to add me on Discord. I can help you with most aspects related to this topic — from shaders to simulating an original PlayStation controller.

Chances are, some trolls will show up now and call me a conceited jerk. They might even bring up the fact that there were first-person shooters on the PlayStation with mouse support and maybe name those two (or however many) games.

Let me repeat: as strange as it sounds, even though most engines have shaders that emulate the graphical artifacts of the PSX era, when I joined this community and started working with CopperCube, I couldn’t find a single suitable shader for that engine. Even if something like that existed, I wasn’t able to find it. In the end, I had to dive into learning GLSL and HLSL to write my own shader.

I’m not putting myself above anyone, but I genuinely want to inspire the community to create true projects that can confidently be called PSX-style games.

P.S.
I understand why some people on the forum called me toxic, but I still partially disagree with that opinion. Yes, maybe I do act toxically sometimes, but on the forum, I always try to hold myself back and minimize the number of jokes to avoid misunderstandings.

Hi samgrady, I want you to know that I know just how you feel, I've been treated bad on the forum before, by some people who feel that they are above someone, I just want you to know that the odds are not there to stop us, they are there to inspire us to do greater, Cheers samgrady, I hope you continue with your wonderful work

Thanks a lot. Well, I wouldn’t say I was really subjected to bad treatment on the forum, it’s more like some arguments with trolls where I didn’t come out as a winner, just as a toxic guyemoji icon_devil
As a result, some trolls might accuse me of toxicity because of some of my replies or just posts on the forum, which makes me have to really try to control what I writeemoji icon_grin
Anyway, I won’t abandon this engine because there’s much more between us than just the relationship of a person and a program.
