Hi Everyone, after what feels like a decade, but actually 6 months of on and off development, I have finished my Coppercube 6 game. I would like to thank all the people who have shared their guides, plug-ins/extensions, YouTube videos, games and assets and general ideas and discussions in this forum. I've been lurking a lot and here and on various YouTube channels and itch.io pages and the community members have provided a goldmine for a novice like me. Thanks. Anyway, if anyone wants to try my game and give me feedback it lives here.... https://petrov-the-blind.itch.io/donut-disaster Thanks again |

Hey @petrov_the_blind, I downloaded the game yesterday, but unfortunately didn't have enough time to beat the whole thing. I got as far as eating all donuts and get poisoned, but going to play more of it today or tomorrow. First of all, it's really great project, especially if it's the first one for you. Good job! For some reason I really like the intro cards, the only issue is that music stops before the animation ends. Overall, visually the game looks really nice! I really like screen filter effects. There are two not critical things that I would improve. First is menu screen - this NN generated image and grey boxes contrast a lot with stylish intro cards. Just looks "cheap" if you know what I mean. I can't really say how improve it, since I struggle with menus myself. But probably you can check some other games for ideas. Second thing is voiceovers, you can probably improve it by using NN, something like bark ai. There is a google collab page which you can use with free google plan: https://colab.research.google.com/drive/1eJfA2XUa-mXwdMy7DoYKVYHI1iTd9Vkt?usp=sharing You can generate the whole voiceover, pitch it down, and maybe apply some effects like flanger for example. I particularly mention these two because they stand out for the worse in terms of overall quality. Anyway, good job, and good luck with your next projects! |

Awesome, thanks @okeoke! I know exactly what you mean about the menus looking "cheap", I'll definitely do a bit more research on it. Also, I knew the voiceovers were a bit over the top, but didn't know what to do to fix them so I'm grateful for the suggestion. (originally, I recorded more lines but I stopped using them after realising that I'm neither a voice actor or audio producer, haha), I'll look into your link about the AI voiceovers. Thanks again, I really appreciate the feedback! |
