I added some html code to my contact.php page and a different code to a Masterpage header. The codes were wrong and now I cannot go back to the original pages and need to use the Edit Html feature to remove the inserts but do not see a way to do this other than using an HTML editor, or Notepad++.
I tried with HTML editor, saved file and then reopened RC and the old file was there.
Suggestions?

Sounds like you just can't find where you added the code? Usually it is not a problem to delete it. If you like, send me the .rcd file and I'll have a look. See on this website Support -> Contact, there is also an email adress printed on the bottom of the page.

I can see the added code in View HTML but cannot edit or delete the code.

You can edit or delete it in the same place where you added it. As written, if you cannot find it, send me the .rcd and I'll help you find the right place.
