Hello, where can I download the source code for coppercube? I couldn't find it. |
Buy the Studio edition. https://www.ambiera.com/coppercu... |
I mean the coppercube source code...not the exported project. |
The code for the editor? It's closed source. |
You have to create your own 3d game engine. |
I have seen something on Github actually.... |

@Robbo, I believe it's crucial for members of this community to actively support the development of the engine instead of sharing unofficial content. Your approach suggests a disregard for both the engine and the community itself, which is quite disappointing. I've come across your posts in other Forums as well, where you refer to fellow users of Ambiera Forums as "children," as if you somehow hold a superior position. It's puzzling that you seek feedback from those you dismiss in such a condescending manner, portraying yourself as an exceptional developer while undermining everyone else. This behavior comes across as showboating. Let the rest of us learn and experiment with the engine in our own ways. It would also be helpful if you could contribute more constructively—for example, by providing guidance on setting up a screen meter instead of belittling others. |
Your comments are only directed at the negative "Guest" and hold little to no value here. You would like to think your not childish but you are so grow up. Be a man and accept correction. You find it hard to deal with others adding great content when you yourself in incapable of anything like that and instead try and feel superior by degrading others work....once again - grow up. Actually would be better if you just left this forum completely as you have added no value to anyone post...only negatives... no-one will miss you. |

Seriously, your approach is concerning. Instead of encouraging people to purchase the studio version to support the development of the engine, you're promoting illegal copies of the source code. On top of that, you've gone to other forums and called everyone here "children," which is completely inappropriate. Your threads often seem like a desperate attempt to force attention by demanding comments, and if you don't get the response you want, you withhold information. This behavior strikes me as incredibly selfish. You clearly struggle with criticism, which you dismiss as negativity rather than taking it constructively. You claim that nobody understands the engine except for you and Niko, but that's simply not true. Many developers here have extensive knowledge of the engine and have made significant contributions to the community. They don't boast about their expertise or whine about a lack of feedback. Some of these contributors include @Sven, @SamGrady, @OkeOke, @Hadoken, @VP, @JIC, @SmnMhdy, @TechnoValley, and @Jaimezegpi. Their work is widely used and valued. There are also many others who, while not as visible, are making valuable contributions through their games and projects. Your attitude of superiority and your habit of belittling others is unhelpful and counterproductive. Rather than supporting and guiding newcomers, you insult them and expect feedback in return. Your reaction to criticism is to label it as negativity, which is a poor way to handle feedback. This is an open discussion thread, and stating the truth and presenting facts is not the same as being negative. If you have any integrity, you should apologize to the community for your disrespectful comments and for encouraging the use of illegal source code. In the future, support the engine and its developers by promoting legitimate means of acquiring the CopperCube license instead of undermining it. Additionally, I’m not going anywhere. That’s the reality you’ll need to face. You should start learning how to handle criticism better. Just as it was hurtful for me when you dismissed everyone here as "children" lacking knowledge, your reaction to criticism may seem negative, but it's something you need to address constructively. |

Um sorry I'm the person who created this post and just asked a question, obviously it seems to be settled in an ego fight between members, the micro community of this engine seems terribly toxic to me, good luck to you. |
Unfortunately it is a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde community preventing cooperative progress of the engine. And don't dare asking for a penny for your work, that is considered a sin here around and being allowed posting as unregistered guests also sucks ... |

@Guest 42 How much longer is this going to go on? No one is forbidding you from selling anything. Plenty of people sell assets, scripts, and services for money, and no one criticizes them for it. In that thread, you were asked if you could do what you claimed because it's difficult to implement, and no one has done it before. The person arguing with you said that you were going to scam the original poster for that very reason, he didn't believe you can do that. I also don't. Just calm down and sell whatever you want. If you want to contribute, go ahead—do it for money or however else you want. No one is stopping you. If you want to post from an unregistered account, go ahead. I just don’t understand what you expect? People should be happy and ask you to continue when you’re anonymously trashing them? |

thanks @okeoke, this is what actually happened in "this thread" and gives a nice impression of the forum's reactions to people who want to advance CopperCube by offering extensions in exchange for some financial support for their work: drama in 10 acts ================ https://ambiera.com/forum.php?t=... ACT 1 @john123 asks for a tool to place multiple level objects more easily in the editor ACT 2 @guest kindly asks for some payment to deliver such tool ACT 3 no answer for @guest but long days of silence (OP not caring for any replies or is it the word payment?) ACT 4 finally a message, but unfortunately only lecturing skeptical words by @okeoke ACT 5 @guest confirming having a working tool ready ACT 6 someone asks for proof: "...instead, show us a video of the working plugin, and not just something that's so ordinary in the community." ACT 7 @guest posts GIF as proof showing working tool (admittedly not exactly a mouse cursor brush but a tool doing the job really well as intended) ACT 8 no one further cares about the invention to make CopperCube users' life easier placing multiple objects ACT 9 @guest resigning, leaving thread pissed, ACT 10 community stays without tool to place multiple level objects more easily in the editor EPILOGUE invention & evolution of the CopperCube game engine successfully prevented by unfriendly community ================ I'm not just complaining, here are my suggestions to stop the self-made stagnation in the CC scene: 1) don't allow unregistered troll guest comments on the forum 2) be more friendly and less arrogant towards members who have something useful to offer the community 3) don't assume you get everything for free from the hard work of others |

So, what exactly stopped you or another guest user, or how I identify you IDK, from posting the working extension on itch for the price you want? If it's a good extension people would buy it, your haters will be humbled. My words: You should probably check if you can do that first. ccbCloneNode doesn't work in the editor. The person answered: Good point @okeoke, but know what - I have already developed a working version. Took me some hard work, but maybe someone could use this and also support my efforts... How wf it is this "lecturing skeptical words"? I'm asking because it is something that would be an issue to me, if I would be developing that application. You also say: "admittedly not exactly a mouse cursor brush but a tool doing the job really well as intended". Exactly, it's still not the same tool, it's also most likely uses some sort of 3rd party program to clone nodes, since it's not possible to do it from the editor, it also requires specific scene setup. The next issue, if you open the js reference and read through it: ccbGetMousePosX() Note: This function is not available in the editor. Returns the current X position of the mouse cursor in pixels. Same for y pos - it's not possible to get the mouse pos from the editor. Another issue is items placement visualization and so on. There is a lot of stuff which makes me sceptical. Am I now not allowed to ask how the things work or what? |

@Guest Your solution was inelegant af, guy. Who in their right mind is going to use tank controls to position crap in a level? All you need to do is a make a level editor exe and dump the data then reread it back into the editor with a plugin. You can clone anything from a damn cube. Get a grip, potato chip. |
