Codecanyon
CgTrader
Sketchfab
Create a website for Coppercube Asset and extension
Free3d.com
turbosquid.com

The list goes on but staying focus one outlet Itch.io is not necessary.

If you trying sell your games and script in C++

sellanycode.com
codecanyon.com

We are Community of Coppercube developer sometimes you have expand your brand and think outside the box. If we only focus on one outlet which is Itch.io we are not growing as a community.

Just checked that out, I feel sorry that you have to go through this situation. I also have some money stuck in itch, when I made a sale by collaborating with @smnMhmdy, I didn't use itch.io's payout mode where they hold the money and pay us later, instead used direct payout mode so that I can receive payment directly through my Paypal account.
When I made the bundled sale with @smnmhmdy, the payout mode was through itch.io and I never received the money.

I suggest using direct payout mode to your Paypal or Stripe account, instead of using itch.

your assets were so helpful to the community, just like others suggested you can always share them on some other site, and maybe make them paid. Interested people will surely purchase them. You can also promote them on my Discord server and I can create a separate channel for your assets on my Discord Server if you wish to use that to promote and sell your assets.

Yeah, really sorry about that. I did feel sad when I took it all down. It wasn't really the money, almost everything on my page was free anyway - it was itch's creator (a guy called leafo https://leafo.itch.io/) really annoyed me with his rude comments. He blocked me from my own community threads and archived my comments (so no-one can see/read them), and threaten to ban me when I asked why I wasn't ever being paid for the purchases/donations that had been made - so he just turned me against the platform. It's definitely a scam and the creator is a complete d*ck. I just decided to take everything down and not support itch any more. I'm not using coppercube at the moment but it will always be dear to my heart and I am making tons of assets (2D and 3D) still. If there's a decent platform I can share on, I'll happily upload all my assets and coppercube stuff again for free (I think it's around gig total).

I've yet to have any issues with Itch.io for the few payments I've gotten. Just as I've never had any issues with PayPal or Coinbase, when others rant about how horrible they are.

There's always two sides to every story... and I assume people are not automatically bumbaclots to other people, right out of the gate. So... what happened? Now I'm curious to know...

I prefer to buy software off Itch.io, than Steam, so I don't have to run Steam software to play the game or whatever. I like software to be unencumbered by "other software", to run it.

It's been pretty stressful. Some people assumed that my assets were infringing copyright - without actually checking the license. When I posted an explanation in the community, most people jumped to the same conclusion and it quickly descended into a self-righteous firing-squad.

The thread lit up with multiple comments, but the very first comment from leafo (itch's owner) was: "Please don't steal other people's work or you will be banned!" He pinned it to the top of the thread and then muted me - so I kept getting new notifications, but couldn't reply to any of the comments/insults.

I 'reported' the thread so I could give 'feedback' that I hadn't actually stolen anything - they're all cc0 license. He replied: "you've clearly stolen the assets and changed them just enough to get away with making money from someone else's work." I re-iterated that everything was free on my page and 'donation only', I also mentioned that itch had only paidout $3 to me over the 4 years.

He responded by saying something like: "This conversation is going nowhere, if you persist, you will be banned". He then arched the thread so no-one can even read it any more (I think?).

....so I deleted all my content and blank-filled the pages, changed my username, wrote my reasons why I feel he was wrong and that he'd acted unprofessionally, then requested my personal-data and asked that my account be deleted.

Thanks - yes, quite disappointing because it's one of the best platforms for indie devs. Turns out I'd spent around $350 dollars on software there too.

I see it quite often with licenses and copyright, people don't take the time to research properly - the irony is that the thread was in relation to me advertising a draft page which I hadn't even published yet - people assumed the content was stolen, assumed it was copyprotected and assumed I was going to sell it.

It was to be a free collection of hundreds of FPS sprite-animations I had made by screenshotting greenscreen video frames from of a game-banana-mod showcase of cc0 assets for popular games, then retracing them all individually as transparent-alpha pixel-art.

Not not only were the original assets cc0 license, I hadn't even uploaded the files or published the page.

It was odd that so many people attacked me without fully understanding what I'd written. By the end I was sick of getting new notifications with no way to reply.

After a week, they've finally honoured my request and deleted my account.

*I've nothing against itch.io but sadly I wont be suporting it any more. I'll look for another platform to re-upload all my files and link them here for people to bookmark.

Maybe just_in_case could add them to his site, since it's hosted on GitHub? I know he has other assets developed by community members there.

Sure, @VP, If you want I can share the whole project of my website to you, so that you can easily create your own stuff in there.

I would suggest you to create your own Github pages, and you host your assets there, and make static pages there, just put a donation or buy me a coffee button there, if you want to have a dedicated page for just your stuff that will be a better approach.
If you would like any help then let me know, just ping me on my Discord and I will help you in setting up a github page, and will help you with the tools that I use for creating the static pages and pushing them directly on Github pages.

It's fairly easy to use and post things there, or if you want you can clone my repository and can also use it for your page if you want.

Just give me a ping if you need help with anything. emoji icon_holy

Thank you! I came back to say I've created a 'GameJolt' acccount to re-upload all my coppercube stuff there. I'll definitely take a look at github too. Appreciate your help. I'll give you a shout if I get stuck. Thank you.I'll start uploading this week and post a link here.

Sure, just let me know whenever you need some help setting up github. You can also use RocketCake or any other website editor/maker of your choice to publish static HTML to Github.
