Hi,

RocketCake 5.5 is available now.
it is a free update, you can just download and install it from here: https://www.ambiera.com/rocketca...

Some changes:
• New carousel component
• Enhanced slideshows (nav buttons, page indicator, etc)
• New and improved templates
• Automatic browser cache invalidation
• New built-in font family stacks
• Contact form UTF-8 support
• smaller improvements everywhere

Detailed change log:

You can install this new update of RocketCake next to your existing RocketCake installation (feel free to uninstall the old one whenever you like). If you have a RocketCake 5 Pro license, the upgrade is free and your license should get recognized automatically by the new version.

Great! I like that you can put anything into the carousel, not only just text. Opens quite some possibilities. Thanks!

I have a paid version 4.8, but mostly use the free version 5.4.
If I download and purchase this new version 5.5, will my version 5.5 overwrite 5.4 to become paid v.5.5.

I am concerned that I will have re-create the 5.4 sites using 5.5.

Also, how long are future updates "free" - just for the version 5 series? If v6.0 comes out in a few months, will I have to purchase that and start over?

No, you can install all of them side by side. Nothing gets overwritten. Once you don't want one version anymore, you can manually uninstall it.

RocketCake versions are backwards compatible. If you created a website with for example version 2, it will perfectly fine open with version 5. (IF you save your website with version 5, that file won't open with version 2 of course, so be sure to make a backup).

Judging by previous releases, it's still about a year until Rocketcake 6. Also, you don't have to start over, you usually get a 50% discount.
