Here's a feature request! A variables tab next to the Attributes/Materials/Behavior tabs. Right now, it seems like variables are just floating out there in the middle of no where. If there was a specific tab then you can always add, modify and reference them. It seems like that would be a logical place. This way you can see what variables an object, or scene has. I mocked up an image to show what I mean. (You might need to click on the magnifying glass to see the whole image) So maybe how it works, is the user types in their variable name in the Variable column. When that happens the Variable Type dropdown becomes active and you can choose what type of variable it is. Then the user can type in what ever they need in the Value column. |

It's unlikely to be added as a built-in feature of Coppercube. Here's a plugin (made by Guest) that adds the feature for managing 100 variables - you can add it multiple times to manage infinite variables.... https://veganpete.itch.io/copper... |

Oh wow... thank you! I'll give it a whirl. I guess that was too much to expect from CopperCube. |

You're welcome - there are quite a few addons to add functionality. You can search for them or ask for one to be made for a small fee - several great coders here on the forum. I think Coppercube development is fairly slow - but updates do happen every-so-often so it's always worth mentioning on the forum. In the meantime the plugins (actions/behaviours) can add extra features that are missing/requested. As you become familiar with coppercube, you'll probably be able to make your own, and become less dependent on the built-in action/behaviours. There has also recently been a spate of people being able to update coppercube with new features using a "loader" which can inject new features to the compiled game.exe. Coppercube is very modular and versatile so the editor is kind of a tiny base-line for people to mash into shape with their own extras using addons or code. I do feel the GUI is due a slight update/refresh with a few sought-after features.. |
