lightmapping - limits of growth

Hi guys,
I repeatedly ran into lightmapping limitation issues. Besides warnings, that I am about to create an insane amount of lightmaps, CC also ends up telling me that (eg) 30 triangles couldn't be lightmapped because they didn't fit on the lightmap.

Now these triangles remain black, I see some of them, but they are not big in the world, so were they just the last ones, that didn't fit on the map anymore? Which map anyway, I see a high number of lightmap files being created, And I have set the size to 1024, which is the max - I wish it was 2028.

I set the details already to the limit where it becomes so rough that it looks like an artefact, also increased bleeding etc. So what could I do to have some detail on the lightmaps, and all of it lightmapped. It really isn't that much of a huge world, but a rather small level, so what am I doing wrong?

Maybe I should rephrase the questions:

Are there any tricks to optimize lighmap usage?

How do I locate triangles that are too big?

How do I break them up?

How do I for example detach the floor of a room and make it a separate static mesh? So I may just change that to Magma and see whether it fixes the issue.

I can only assume the big triangles are on the floor of the biggest room.
