Double Edge Armor of God - Performance and Logistics Optimizing the performance was important for the game to work well on average PC systems, such as laptops and desktops. Economizing geometry is a professional standard for a good functioning game. I scheduled days and weeks just to reduce poly counts that drain like Dracula. Used smaller maps and deleted any un-needed backface or capface. I used diffuse maps for the game and baked majority of the other texture maps except for a few. Most of all after testing the Coppercube engine, I realized quickly that I needed to work with the strengths of the program instead of expecting major changes or updates. So I chose a project that would work well with the game engine first and didn’t initially rely on external plug-ins and extensions. About 80% of the game is default Coppercube presets. This way community resources are a bonus and I complete the project on time. Softwares used - 3ds Max and Adobe Photoshop. Game Engine - Coppercube6. Development time - 17 months over a 3 year span. Investment - Under $100 including CC6 and plugins. Resources - 95% original, about 5% free generics. Texture sizes - Few 2048 maps mostly 1024 or lower. RAM memory - Requires 3700MB RAM minimum. Entire game size - 240MB. Members - 1 developer and CC community assets. Purpose - Digital ministry resource/positive gaming. Level maps - 36 including the main startup map. Genre - Supernatural, Christian, Action. Camera POV - 19 maps in 3rd person and 17 in 1st. Rating - E 10+ mild fighting, action or gloomy scene. OS System - Windows PC, tested on 8,10 and 11. “Top System Hogs” High Geometry Lengthy Character Animations Water Material Many Dynamic Lights Large Size Texture Maps Too many Complex Action/Behaviors |
