Using RC for not long and 5.0.1 just a week, to not appear dumb having overseen the most easy things, I've waited with some questions hoping I would find out by time. But the following are still on my pain list. Hope nobody is offended when I put those little nuisances, all at once on the board. 1.Guess the % position refers to the screen or page size? But where do I see or change those? 2. Would be nice to have a RC button 'Back' next 'Undo' just to go back to the last screen other than via the bowser. 3. Is it true that Master Page doesn't copy menu Items, really? Or I'm dumb? 4. Can't change font seize and type in web forms text edit fields, is this a bug? 5. Now some minor worries: 5.1 Starting RC, I always get the message that all my current changes will be lost although I just open the program, that is irritating 5.2 Checking 'Do not show again' doesn't care about, that is naughty. 5.3 When I 'Open Recent File' menu and that file I chose doesn't exist anymore I would like to delete it instead just getting 'Failed Loading' message. 5.4 RC starts open its window in the middle of my MacBook screen so I always need to adjust it to the upper left corner and resize it. That's work before work is started. Neither those fivers glitches are difficult to endure but might nor easy to repair neither, but those little glitches just nerve . . . |

ad 1) % refers to the width of the parent element (if there is one) or to the width of the screen (if there is no parent element). You find and specify this in the element's properties next to "Size" ad 2) Not sure what you mean. Undo takes back your last entry to the editor. Preview creates a HTML file based on the latest editor status. If you wish to keep track of your work, click Preview after each step, and have your browser set to open a new tab each time. This way you will get a long list of browser tabs and can check backwards for the changes you have made. However, it's not possible to recreate a previous editor status from the preview. So after all, unlimited Undo and Redo is the best you can have. ad 3) A masterpage doesn't copy anything. If you want to have your menu on a masterpage, you will have to put it there. ad 4) You can. Click the Text Edit Field to open its properties. Change font size and font face under "Font". Change font color under "FontColor". ad 5.1) I guess that should not happen if you click Save before you shut down RocketCake. ad 5.2) Have never seen such check box (I'm on Windows) ad 5.3) Why would you want to open a file which doesn't exist anymore? Personally, I do not use the Open dialog. To resume editing an existing project I just double-click the project rcd. On Windows the recent files list is stored in the registry. So I could delete these entries if I wanted. Not sure about Mac OS. ad 5.4) Good point. Same behaviour here on Windows. Would be nice if RC remembered its window size and position. |

Thank you Micaelo for your patient explanations. 2. The pages of my website are in a certain order to guide the visitor to the solution. While in RC, if I need to leave the current page to look up something in another menu, to continue where I was last I have to scroll through about three dozens .html files in Documents. Ok, no big deal just a minor nuisance but a Back button would be nice though. 3. Well I'm not a programmer and misunderstood that Master Page does not copy but pages just pointing to it. This works fine. 4. When it came to the problem of changing the fonts, I was probably too imprecise, because only the font entries in your Contact template, which you kindly provided, I can't change. And when I go into the code, I don't know what .html I have to add in the editor 'cause I just can't edit 12pt for 10pt there as I have probably add new code in the window. God, I always see 12pt Arial and can't change it to10pt. This disturbs me cause I'm embarrassed not knowing .html anymore but for me the 12pt letters are too big and do not look stylish. But I don't have time learning it again as I had last worked with it 20 years ago. 5.1 No big deal may be I'm just too tidy, know I'm engineer. 5.2 Strangely though I don't see that warning anymore when I start the app, might be I've mingled it up with RC 4.8. 5.3 Why would I want to open a file which doesn't exist anymore? Well why do you search for you key in your pocket when it isn't there? Ok, so it's just the iron fonts in the Contact Form that pains me. Wanna have a screen shot for proof I do open the right thing? Sorry Micaelo, now exactly what I feared has happened, it was so easy to adjust the font in the normal font menu and not in the properties where I thought it should be, shame on me! |

I must admit I haven't tried yet to change the font in a Text Edit Field. I just noticed that there is the option to do that. Now I have made a test, and you are right. I can change the font color, but I cannot change font size, font weight, font face. |

Well, yes, strange enough. That works. However, if there is the option in the Properties, I think it should work from there. I have made a separate post on the subject. |
