https://veganpete.itch.io/watchm... Once upon a time, there was an old watchmaker and his beloved little frog. They were very happy until, one day, the frog fell inside a clock. Lost and alone in a maze of metal springs and cogs, The little frog listened for his master's instruction... "Hurry my friend! If the clock chimes, you will be squished by the cogs of time." A physics-based game. Use "Left"and "Right" keys to rotate the clock-spring. Press "Up" to make the frog jump. Collect the key to unlock the gate. Collect the Gem for Score. Collect the Hour-glass for more time. This is just the prototype - a working demo of the training level. If anyone wouldn't mind play-testing it to let me know if the controls/graphics/animations/sounds/pickups etc work or if there are any bugs/Glitches you can find? Have spent a few days on it so far, I expect the full version will be ready in a few weeks for the "Abstract" game-jam. Let me know what you think so far. |

Excellent game VP! I love the style of your game, a puzzle with strategy and time to scape the clock! I noticed after level 3 has no music, maybe the game is not finished yet; The controls are very good, is working great! The music is very good in the gameplay! Thanks for share the ccb file! |

This is a very unique game and very cool to play, liked it very much but for me, all the levels are the same, wish this can be turned into a something more beautiful puzzle game. I liked the physics and puzzle, thanks a lot for the CCB too. |

Thank you for the feedback! Glad it's working correctly and smoothly. This one is just a demo of a single level to test the mechanics and features. I'll be adding around 50 more puzzles with music to make a more complete game. By the way, did you like the death animation for the frog (if you let the timer run out)? lol. By the way, I used as site called "Aiva" to make the music - it's all A.i. generated and free to use if you mention their site. Instead of paying a subscription, I clicked play and recorded in analogue from my desktop - it's slightly lower quality, but it keeps it free and is good enough for my non-commercial games - I'll be down-sampling all the audio to 1q(mono).ogg format anyway, to keep the file-size low. |

Congratulations @Pete, what a beautiful gem you put together! Love it, this is what makes CopperCube really shine, thanks for sharing ![]() |

Thanks for your kind words hadoken! I'm really glad it works properly and that you like it so far. Hopefully the finished game will be quite playable. |

Really like the game! The graphics reminds early ps2/psx era games a lot:) I wish there is more colorful nice stuff like that. I have a weird issue with controls though: 1. Jump into the key room and pick up the key; 2. Hold down right key, so you hit the wall, keep the right key held until the room turns 180 degrees; As a result your controls and animations gets inverted. |

Thanks for trying it out. Glad you like it. Yes, I noticed the issue with inverting the player too. I think it's gonna be hard for me to fix but I'll try to fix it. Main problem is that it's an optical illusion - the controls actually move the wheel, not the frog - the frog stays still as the wheel moves round him her. I tried to fix it by moving the frog too - but that introduces the opposite problem and makes it really hard to control the player. I'll have a long think about how to fix it and see what I can do. It's on the list of things to fix, if I can - thank you. |

I thought of a way to fix it - I think, if I stop the wheel turning when the frog hits a wall, it should stop the inversion of movement. It'll take me a while to implement it but I'll let you know if it works. Thanks again Okekoke. |

Are "VeganPete" and "VP" the same person? Almost seems like it. |

Sorry for the confusion, yes - same person! "VeganPete" is my registered login on mist forums, I sometimes just use "VP" as a guest here, simply because it's quick to type whenever I get logged out from a session. |
