Hi, here is a preview of the next CopperCube version - it's intended only for testing the upcoming DarkMode. Any feedback is welcome. You can download it here: https://www.ambiera.at/downloads... - The Dark Mode can be enabled/disabled under Tools -> Options - You'll notice it's quite a bit a Frankenstein Dark Mode for now - some elements still are light like scrollbars and menus. I've had to keep it for now like this in order to make it run nicely on all operating system versions. But I'll eventually improve this with upcoming releases. - Don't forget to uninstall this alpha version of the editor before you install the final version once ready. (you can do this by right-clicking the start menu in Windows and choose "Apps and Features") I know it's far from perfect and in fact sucks quite a bit at a few places, but the Win32 API is really limiting especially if you want to support as many old operating system flavours as possible. Please let me know whatever you think about this. |

One thing I think you might wanna change is the "Use own local web server for WebGL and Flash" and remove the "and Flash" portion of the string :) |

Some other suggestions for the interface in general: The editor's window title changes from "CopperCube 6" to "CopperCube" when you load a CCB. Maybe make it always read "CopperCube 6" and then the edition, so: CopperCube 6 Free CopperCube 6 Pro CopperCube 6 Studio Also add a check so if a copy is licensed, the "Register" button is removed from the "Help" dropdown menu. ImageSizeReducer has this same quirk as well. One last change I'd suggest is, if a person chooses to use dark mode (or it's detected), make a different default CCB load which only has the cube and no skybox. It looks a LOT more visually appealing I think. Or make the skybox different so it's darker. Apart from that, this is a nice feature. Certainly an improvement over the eternally-light theme which has been in place from the start :) Good effort, especially considering there's no official tooling available from MS to streamline the process. Seeing some icons with less ghosting around the edges would be nice but isn't crucial for now IMO. There's plenty of time to refine that down the road. |

It works great on my Windows 11 22H2 as you already mentioned there are some parts that still needs the dark mode. Animation editor, Irrlicht/irredit panel, scroll bars, and menus, etc. but at the same time, if anybody wants to work with all of them in Dark mode, they can use the High contrast theme and can make necessary changes to it to blend with the dark mode of CC. Here is a screenshot of Dark mode in CC with High contrast theme. Also, my custom yellow icons look perfect with dark mode, at least some of them. if anybody wishes to install them in any version of CC. here is the link to the installer:- https://cdn.discordapp.com/attac... Hope to see more improvements to it. edit:- @niko maybe you are already aware of it, but I Just noticed that the options that are disabled and aren't available to use appears odd in Dark mode, maybe you should change their color to something different. Speaking of improvements, please give OpenGl / GLSL users the feature to use at least 2 different textures in fragment shader, or give any hint how to use other than texture unit 0 only -> can't get other 3 editor texture slots into shader ... things not working (as possible in HLSL): uniform sampler2D tex0; uniform sampler2D tex1; uniform sampler2D tex2; uniform sampler2D tex3; or other things not working: gl_TexCoord[0] = gl_MultiTexCoord0; gl_TexCoord[1] = gl_MultiTexCoord1; . texture binding other than unit 0 seems to be missing in CC source code to pass into glsl fragment shader ... So much better Niko, thanks!!! Comments: Besides being nicer to my eyes (and my migraine-persona), selected objects where hardly visible before in the scenegraph. Now better but still not optimal (blue background when selected in the graph, whitish grey background when selected in the scene - not supberb choice of colour as the object name is almost the same nuance as the background) Icons by just_in_case are also preferable, also in the original white mode version. Small whishlist: If by any chance your have the possibilty for a future further oversight of the editor, i ask again to consider: - tab-possibilty for jumping between input fields - when many pop-up windows appear, make them show up side by side instead of deafult on top of each other. (this happens when there is a series of checking-variable-windows, like: if variable i=1 then if variable p=14, then chen if variable key=1, etc) - Also, it would be proper: at start of Coppercube, there's a pop-up asking if we want to open up a sample project or start a new project. I am missing: open up recent project/s and/or browse a file directly from within the box |

Great to have a more modern look to CopperCube - and better for my eyes also ! Please increase the highlighting of a node in the Scene Graph Explorer so that if I click on a 3d object its clearly visible as with previous versions was hard to see... Also while your working on the UI - please remove the auto open all folders in the Scene Graph Explorer when you update something in the Properties panel as should just stay either open or close manually. It also resets back to the top each time which is not helpful - please remove that also. |
