SkyBox Shader

Just released a skybox shader for coppercube that allows you to dynamically create skyboxes on the go by blending 2 color together.

you can specify the Top color and Bottom Color.
Also the blend height to control the blend.

The shader also allows you to create dynamic stars as well.
You can turn the stars on and off.
Specify a stars count threshold, the lower the value is the more the stars will appear.

You can control the Star Size ThreshHold, the higher the value is the smaller the stars will appear.

You can play along with different values to get different results.

Thers is also an unlisted YouTube video on the usage of the shader action without any voiceover.

If you want you can watch the video here.
https://youtu.be/Fy5V3DgmC4w

There are some bugs in this shader like, sometime stars are not aligned perfectly that they make the skybox looks like a box. So simply change the values for star size and star count to overcome this.

Download the Shader for Free from my website Neophyte.cf here

Hope you guys find this shader action useful...

Always fantastics plugins and share free to us!
Thank you very much just_in_case, you have no idea how you are important to us!

The plugin is very cool, it let the sky very realistic with simple colors, very smart!

Thanks!

@just_in_case

great SkyBox Shader, thanks another time for sharing!

I guess the shader only uses color attributes and not multiple textures, so maybe it could also easily be ported as OpenGL version?

If the gradient's color range is wider I get visible stripes. Could these perhaps be better smoothed out somehow? Do you have any tips for that?

Nevertheless impressing contribution! Keep up! THX

Really nice work! I love this kind of colouring for sky - previously I was using a single gradient png to do this, but your method seems a lot simpler.

Would this work even without a skybox - just a backgroud colour - or does it need the skybox textures to render the colours?

Nice one!

Thanks a lot everyone nice to hear that you guys liked it

@hadoken, I will try to check it by using a wider gradient range and will let you know if I come up with any solution or ideas to smooth out the stripes.

@VP yes, this will work without any texture or with just simple solid color skybox as well. glad that you liked it.

@edwin123, why are you not able to use it? I am not sure. What issue are you getting?

hey can you create a fur shader, please? I have so many animals model and I want them to have furs with the shader. It would be great if you can create it.
Thanks!!

creating a fur shader seems like a complex task, I will see if I will be able to achieve something like that.

Hi just_in_case. The skybox with the clouds looks so great with this shader, I truly can't thank you enough for bringing this to CC. I was wondering how difficult it would be to convert the default cloud skybox to a sky sphere/dome while maintaining the same pattern. That would likely help with the prominent box shape that is sometimes visible. It's easy to work around for sure, I'm just curious mostly. Thank you again.

@slothfulroper608, glad that you find the shader useful, you can simply use a spheremesh with double-sided material, and with Z-buffer 0 and disabled Z-writing, and you can apply the shader action on the spheremesh, and it will work just like the skybox, you won't find any issue there, actually I originally developed the shader for skyphere, but when I tested it on skybox, it was giving similar results, so that was a bonus, I did'nt had to mess with it more to make it allign perfectly with skybox.
