seems like a thread post that was deleted by the forum owner, I have also seen many posts like this in past. I think it was the post from the announcement section, as I checked the forums yesterday there was some blitz basic free 3D models thread there, but now it is no more there. Probably @niko removed that thread.

If the link contains anything which may be considered as potentially copyrighted material, most forums will probably deleted such content and links. I've noticed that even Models from abandonware or public-domain projects will sometimes come under scrutiny here (for example I posted some models from the opensource remake of Battlefield 2, called "Project Reality" - the content I uploaded was public domain and I had textured them and placed them in a ccb scene) but it was removed from here because Battlefield is a major franchise owned by EA Games. I uploaded the ccb files and models to itchio instead, so people can still access the models there and it will not bring any Copyright issues to the Ambiera forum.

Abandonware isn't even a real concept. It's some stupid thing the internet made up.

"The simple answer is no, abandonware is not legal. Even if the creator abandons a copyrighted work, it does not become public property automatically. The copyright on the work exists until the copyright expires, the duration of which varies from country to country. Typically, the copyright on a video game will last at least 70 years..."

Well, I'll just have to disagree with you.

...Then you're disagreeing with facts. I don't think there's any harm at all in piracy if it's old software which otherwise isn't offered by the developer and you aren't using it for commercial purposes, but our feelings don't trump laws which are passed.

Here's my original post -

Quote: "If the link contains anything which may be considered as potentially copyrighted material, most forums will probably delete such content and links. Please, which "facts" have I disagreed with - and where have I tried to trump the law with "my feelings"?

Thanks.

I think what you're doing is arguing against what you think I feel, rather than what I actually said.

It's called a "straw-man argument".

Certain individuals were impersonating others which goes against the forums terms and conditions plus bringing too much toxicity into the forum and removed as requested.

Well dear Robo, I mean Robbo, you are taking this a step too far now. I wasn't planning on reacting, but now I can't resist anymore.

I followed the post which DouweDabbe is referring to, because it is a theme that has my attention.

At the time I didn't see any harm at all with the respond of Guest and still I can't come up with anything wrong.
Actually, I responded to it as well and when you later disagreed with me in an particular way, I already expected that you don't like to disagree.
But you know, not everybody in this world has the same opinion. And being adults and decent people, means the people can discuss facts when disagreeing.

So
A. let's be a man and not talk about "certain individuals", but name people.
B. "impersonating". Do you have any proof of that? You made an assumption and then it is the truth? Imo you were just pissed bc Guest and I didn't agree with you.
C. "the forums terms and conditions". I found this:
3. Forum, Submissions and Contributions
Ambiera tries to provide a very open online discussion board ("FORUM"), but Ambiera reserves the right to modify or delete posts in the forum without notice, in cases of abuse, harassment, defamatory statements, violation of laws and legal rights, publishing of false or misleading information and similar.

So I don't see anything regarding that particular post what comes close to the terms and conditions.
And if I'm wrong, it would be very pleasant if somebody (besides you Robo) would explain it to me.

D. "Toxicity". Wow........After two very normal disagreeing responds you are talking about toxicity. This really knocks me out of my chair. If somebody reacted toxic, it was you by implying lots of stuff.

E. And then the final point. You then request the post to be removed? As a person I really have great patience and I don't like to become, but that is so childish.
People disagree with you and that is the reason to ask others to help you and get something removed.

Oh and you are complaining about impersonating. What is this with changing your name to Robbo?

Well if this post is a reason to ban me, so be it.
I prefer to talk about this as adults and with reason.
Let us all have fun with Coppercube, respect each others opinions (and most of all not deny facts).
Nobody is all-knowing in here and nobody has to act like the King of the Forum.
Learn from each other and enjoy game designing.

no offend at all; but it reads to me more like a "straw-woman argument" :)
