Just out of curiosity I have made an attempt with locally hosted Google fonts and found this is quite simple to accomplish. Here is a 3-pages-PDF how to do this in RocketCake.

Edit:

I'm sorry. I have to take this off. I found mistakes in the document and need to correct it. Sorry again.

Sorry, I need to rework the tutorial. Work in progress. Here is a test site with 3 locally installed Google fonts. Seems to work

Here is my revised PDF with a step by step instruction.
https://4hundert.de/public/RCgoo...

And here is a zip file containing a test project with 4 self-hosted Google fonts. When you unpack the zip file be sure to set your unzipper to keep the folder structure. The /www upload/ folder contains all the stuff which would be uploaded to the server. Double-click index.html to view the 4 typefaces.
The zip also includes the rcd file so you can check the additional code in the pages. Note however: You cannot see the typeface of the Google fonts in the RocketCake editor. That's because only once RocketCake has created the HTML pages the self-hosted fonts can be grabbed. With a little trick however, described on page 4 of the PDF, you can see the typeface of the fonts upon click on Preview.

Update: I have added a page which uses all the 4 fonts so you can see in the rcd how the additional code looks like in that case.
