Cheers 'coa', having a player able to both get too hot and too cold is not easy as it might seem and not seen any game that has this. You have to account for body warmth when cold (from food) and cooling (from liquids) when hot and have it all work together with the weather, clothing and other things.
I will also add in clothing breathability (when hot that allows the player to sweat and cool down (or not)....depending on the clothing used.
