There have been lot of Games that has been made in CopperCube and are getting popular on itch.io but it's a shame that the developer still don't bother to put Created with CopperCube game engine branding or anything related to Coppercube in there.

It's really a shame cause I have mentioned this thing so many times on my Discord server and now I decided not to provide support to those games and developers who are getting this much popularity but doesn't care about the CopperCube game engine or the community.

I know it's a harsh act, not to help someone as some other people will provide help them in one or another way. But as working in the community for several years, I have learnt that you need to make rules and be strict to them.

I have been working for the public cause for the last several years but I have to face hatred and other things even when though I was creating stuff for free for public usage, That is also a reason why I have price tags in front of some of my Assets now.

So yeah, I will not be going to provide any sort of help and won't allow promotion of those games on my Discord server, unless CC itself becomes so popular that it doesn't matter if you put a logo or not.

As CC community is really small, such actions like not putting the Logo or CC branding in your game go against my own rules from my own perspective.

You guys might get help from other people in the Community but I am not going to answer your questions if you put them here on the forums or on my Discord server. I am also going to put restrictions on those developers on using extensions that have been created by me and are available to download from neophyte.cf

This is a strict action from my side but this has to be taken in order to make the community grow and let people know about Coppercube even more.

It doesn't matter to me if you have paid for the pro version or studio version for removing the branding of CC logo. It has nothing to do with the CC terms and other things. It is my personal opinion from my personal perspective.

I don't think I am asking you guys a huge thing in return, just a Coppercube branding in your game, that's it. Hope that this post makes sense.

Don't give up on the small community just_in_case! I was planning to not only put coppercube engine in the credits of my games, but also the people's names from the community that helped me a lot like you did. I got so much done thanks to your tips that i would probably not have figured out myself. Im planning to release my diner game on steam once its finished and if you agree your name will be visible in the credits section. I will make sure its very clear my game is created with Coppercube. I used UE in the past for example but with Coppercube you can still get quite similar results and its super lightweight opposed to UE (Unreal engine) I love to use this engine and why not show that?:)

Also im gonna throw a lot of content online for people to download:)

Thanks for all your help just_in_case!
I hope CC becomes really popular and that more people buy your great plugins.

Here's the animated CC logo I made for my Rebel County game - but anyone can use this if they like it.....

I'm so grateful for all your support just_in_case!

You help us a lot and even with your wonderful scripts that you share with us and make Coppercube so much bigger! I agree that all devs should support Coppercube more and show the world how the engine can easily compete with Unity or Unreal!

Thanks and I am glad that most of you are adding the customized created with CC branding. I do have my own custom CC branding log, I think I made that logo opening a bit better with the help of use of shader to create a nice opening scene. Afair, I also posted the CCB file for that scene on my Discord server.
Also, I am not going to give up on this engine yet. My USB controller wasn't working, so I borrowed my friend's Controller. Soon I will try to implement controller Support for CC. Hope that it will work as expected.

Just in case, I never knew anything about programming, but with your help, as well as Niko's, I am now able to making the game progress well. If one day it is finished and I want to publish it, I will definitely show the name and logo of Coppercube in it.
(I am making a volleyball game for Android, one of its good features is the presence of real faces of the players in the game)

Yes, its a bit tough but understand we need more support for CopperCube.

I have the Pro version with the removed logo but will add it back in again to keep everyone happy...

You are all very wrong.

Hiding the coppercube logo is a massive security plus. When you use the coppercube logo, it means that everyone knows that you are using this tiny game engine with a very limited API.

Thus, games can be cracked easier, especially in terms of networking file management , the packets can become vulnerable.

This is the first thing that you learn in computer science degree and it is called security by obscurity.

Always try to hide the framework or engine of choice unless licensing does not permit it.

Basically what you are doing is saying, hey hackers, here is my jugular. If this was Unity, then that is a different story, but not a tiny game engine like CC6

Also, Niko gave us the opportunity to hide the logo...I think that he is ok with it...don't you think? You know, given that he built the functionality into his own engine

Also, given, that CC6 is not his primary concern... You know, he has kinda been working on several games for the last 4 years and hardly patched CC and only gave us one real update

Also, neophyte.cf gives a virus warning on avast, mcafee and avg...It has done so for almost 2 years... This is far more damaging to the coppercube community then hiding the logo

If hacker wants to hack something then hacker doesnt need to see logo to understand what engine is being used.

Anyways i respect just_in_case idea because he is spending a lot of time to help others.. and it would be nice that people promotes coppercube so more people find interests in coppercube and many new users will join cc community.

First of all, please also do not think I'm against putting the CCB logo in my games. I'll get it back with the next releases. I also have nothing but respect to you, and I think you're doing a great job by keeping the community alive.

But:

You could just ask to people to put the logo if you think it's important. I'm not a part of your discord server, I've never seen any topic there you ask anyone to put a logo. I don't think there is a single person on this forum who would say "no" to you. You can of course, say that you've told this many times before, but it doesn't really work like that - if you tell something to a certain person other people still don't hear your statement.

It's your right to answer or not to answer questions. It's your right to promote or not promote a game. But it's also up to people who're making these games to put or not to put logos and/or promote or not promote coppercube. You can't do anything with it - it's up to the person who's making a game to decide. Personal rules are personal rules, you can't apply these to everyone.

You can ban, restrict, ignore questions, whatever - by doing that you're not helping the community to grow, you're doing the opposite by excluding and dividing people.

I also have another argument coming from commercial point of view. Please google "how to remove unity splash screen free" and check how many questions do people ask about that. Basically, a possibility to change the default splash screen is the only viable feature in a CCB PRO version, and, I believe, a reason why people buy it. So if I have to keep it anyway, why should I buy PRO?

And the last thing, I don't really think there is a single person who saw the CCB logo in the game, and came to the forum after that. For the most part, no one plays these games except people from the forum.
(Psst, actually, people from the forum don't play each other games too, despite the comments in the announcement sections:)) - and this is also totally fine. You can't make anyone do something they don't want:)

Probably, it might be a better idea to conduct an online survey and learn how did people hear about CCB and focus in that direction, instead of assuming that removing the logo affects the CCB popularity somehow.
