Window size problem

I made video of my problem that i have.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...

I dont do fullscreen programs or games usually so its not a good thing that happens.
And i make many versions of my programs and i put them into folders v1 v2 aso..(and i cant use them anymore as they are supposed to be used)

Main question is .. if i share my program then how it will look like in other person computer.. if he puts it into folder that is not original.
(even if i keep my program in original folder but i dont keep it in desktop then screen gets messed up again)

You see if i use fixed size window 800 600
then window size will be different if i use original folder or want to put in another folder.

If i use desktop screen size then things gets real messy.

If i set it to fullscreen then its ok but i dont do fullscreen apps so its useless for me.

Real question is : does it happens only for me ?

GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti

Not quite shure what the problem is.

but

Tip 1
When opening project from somebody else you can save
all its textures locally from the Texture panel, file by file.

Tip 2
Test first on a copy of your project !!!
If you dump all textured nodes in one folder then
you can use the scripting window to change programmatically their textures,
from high quality png to release quality jpg
or you change them fromstrangers path to your local path.
with all the freshly saved textures.

Tip 3
Open your ccb project file in notepad (read only modus)
and see if you see any weird paths in there,
to correct them use and adapt tip 2

Conclusion its a bit of work, but for small files doable.

I think the screen resolution is your problem - put all 2D overlays as 'Percent' not "Pixels" so that when you run at different resolutions will adjust automatically.

Problem itself isnt then content in window but window itself..
in video i show difference between window rect sizes if i run my app in different folders (same app but got different results)

(content in window gets messed up also because of this of cource but this isnt the problem-problem is deeper than that)

i use same display setting
CC settings are 800x600 fixed size(not dynamic) use desktop resolution (fullscreen not ticked)
PC desktop settings 1920x1080 with layout scale 125%

If i tick fullscreen also then its ok but i cant use fullscreen if i share my test versions--if there is error then app will freeze and for me i cant close it so i have to hard reset and kill my laptop-and this is not what i want my app users to have to do because of my faulty app i shared)

EDIT: Probably i need to use Dynamic window not fixed size.

well,

1)
you can code in the escape button to quit
your coppercube application in every scene.

2)
make sure the app-close button is there in your app at all times.

3)
and you can warn users to kill the app in the windows TaskManager.

No need to crash the system.

knockknock on wood.

I am kinda computer nerd so i know these stuff actually.

I dont know but i am unable to focus task manager if coppercube game crashes (fullscreen). and i crash my apps often because i do javascript and i do typos.

But still the problem was not crash but window rect size.
But i think i have to use dynamic not fixed size window and that will work .

For windowed apps, dynamic screen size can be considered if you are having issues with the exclusive fixed size, and that's a strange bug I see there, I will try to reproduce it once I reach to my desktop.

For the taskbar focussing when CC crashes on fullscreen you can use multiple desktop feature of windows and then open task manager there to kill the cc app that is running. It will prevent you from restarting the laptop/desktop and save some boot time.

For the window size problem maybe report this to @niko and it will get fixed in future updates hopefully.

So, I tried reproducing the bug and this isn't an issue of changing of the project folder or directory it is actually a bug with the exclusive/fixed size screen mode when the "fullscreen" option is unchecked.

For windowed mode, exclusive/fixed-size mode can ruin the game's window size. so yeah using the dynamic mode for windowed games is more suitable than exclusive mode.

image of difference: (dynamic mode : 800x600)

Dont know why window sizes should be different at all.
Never noticed this stuff with other game engines or with my own engine.
