I would like a two level navigation menu where the second level opens up horizontally rather than dropping down vertically. Is there any way to achieve this? And if it is possilble will I still be able to auto generate a mobile menu?

Not sure if I understand correctly, so you want the second level menu items to be stacked up in a row? Never seen something like this before, do you maybe know an example website where this happens?

I dont think there is something built in for this, but it looks like simply a list of links? You can probably make a container for each of them and then hide/shoe them using javascript.
