July 2021 - Entry for Cube Jam 1 The theme was "Clone" So I created a Mario Kart Clone. Complete with AI competitors and Weapons to collect. https://youtu.be/mZbJLC4vDvM Features: 5 Unique Tracks 5 AI competitors 4 difficulty Levels Customizable Skins for Kart and Character. 6 Item Types Boost Pads Controls: WSAD - Movement Q - Look behind SPACE - Use Item, Select, Continue, Exit After Race ESC - Return to main menu, Exit Game Items: Collect items by picking up Rainbow Gems. You can only hold one Item at a given time. Vulcan - Fires a barrage of bullets. Each bullet has little effect but you can score multiple hits. Missile - Fires a slow but powerful missile straight ahead. Mines - Drops two mines behind your Trike. Each one decreases speed by 1/3. Boost - Temporary increase in speed. Will be canceled if you take damage. Orbital Strike - Laser fired via GPS Satellite. Hits all opponents regardless of distance. Cuts Speed by half with each hit. Boost pads: Aside from Items there are also Yellow Gems which on contact initializes a nitro boost, increasing your Trike's speed. Mastering the location of these in a map is key to winning. Tracks: Raceway - A lush green track. Minimal Inclination and light turns. Easy track to learn to play. Canyon - A desert Map. Lots of changes in inclination, ramps, choke-points, and water hazards (you loose speed while driving through water). Very Technical map for Advanced Racers. City - Walled off urban streets, full of 90 degree turns along with cars, trucks, and create obstacles. Some sport cars are streamlined enough for your trike to ramp of and get some air! :) Ocean - Small Loop track, full of obstacles to dodge and plenty of ramps to jump. Limited Jumps and Items so make them count! Also Be careful as if you fall in the ocean that's it for you. This is an expert course, try practicing on previous tracks. Magma track - Inside a massive volcano, this is a tracks for EXPERTS ONLY. You can easily fall of the track and never be heard from again. Pretty decent actually. I would change some of the sound effects for even better feel like that turbo boost - currently sounds like machine guns. The ambient engine sounds maybe bit louder and everything using 3d sounds so it will change intensity with distance. The object collection sounds didn't always play it seems also. (lots of different sound effects really adds atmosphere to a game better than anything) I think you need a large position indicator (in the race) maybe top middle or something of the screen so you know if your in first place or what.. Looks good though... |

Updated Krazy Keet Racers to v 1.1.0! Updates: * Balanced Music and Sound FX better, to not drown out ambient noises. * Added the ability to pause your game. Press ESC during an race. Press Space to return. Whats New: * Astro Track: - Your racing... in space.. outside a space station... and under attack by aliens. If that sounds fun and crazy then you like this stage. Like Magma this is a track for EXPERTS ONLY. No guard rails, and plenty of places to fall, oh and did you think I was kidding about aliens attacking??
